I hear a lot of people saying that the US is meddeling in countries affairs. I know we have a bad president but why dont we just leave all of our bases across the world and become pacifists we'll just tell the world "you didnt want us there, why shold we save you then?" HOW WOULD YOU LIKE FENDING FOR YOUSELVES against the terrorsits if you dont like us being there?

i am so sick and tired of this war that is going on. As of monday the number of people that have died in this war was only 1 less than the number of people that died on 9/11. if anyone can give me a very good reason why we are fighting with the middle east then maybe i would be able to understand a little better why we are fighting with other humans.
Those out there who support the war, let me know why you think that innocent people in iraq are dying, tell me why WE have the right to ruin other peoples lives.
dont think that i am not aware that thousands of americans are risking their lives for this country. but families are in grief because,
one of their family members are out there fighting. do really think that we have right to determine that these people have to die just because they werent born in this corrupted country that is supposedly "perfect". think.

I'm asking this as a direct challenge to Eric M, who has plastered these boards with his Amerika-uber-alles proselytization, connecting terrorism with Dictatorships. Since these boards appear to be filled with pro-imperialist red blooded types who will probably ignore anything I have to say anyway, I'll try to be brief.

Terrorism is not caused by dictatorships. It is reaction against foreign powers who support rulers who have no legitimacy in the eyes of their people. That is why most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis, as is Osama bin Laden. If the assertion that dictatorships cause terrorism held true, one would assume that most of the hijackers would have been Iraqi, or Syrian, or even North Korean. Instead, they were Saudi.

The vast majority of terrorist movements in the last 100 years have been directed against regimes, democratic or otherwise, that owed their existence to foreign powers (i.e. movements in Greece, Algeria, and Germany). Any thoughts?

I have heard that the day of the former President Ford's funeral service will be recognized at a one-time Federal holiday and will interrupt mail delivery, etc. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!

The whole world thinks the US invaded Iraq only for economic purposes. The invasion now seems to be developing into another Vietnam. Those saying things about "freedom", "democracy" and all kinds of kind words for the Iraqi people are now deemed as naïve.

The question is: Do you think the US will learn something from this mistake?

I think so, I know that life in prison and lethal injection would be too painless for such a great catastrophy created by such a bastard.
