I'm asking this as a direct challenge to Eric M, who has plastered these boards with his Amerika-uber-alles proselytization, connecting terrorism with Dictatorships. Since these boards appear to be filled with pro-imperialist red blooded types who will probably ignore anything I have to say anyway, I'll try to be brief.
Terrorism is not caused by dictatorships. It is reaction against foreign powers who support rulers who have no legitimacy in the eyes of their people. That is why most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis, as is Osama bin Laden. If the assertion that dictatorships cause terrorism held true, one would assume that most of the hijackers would have been Iraqi, or Syrian, or even North Korean. Instead, they were Saudi.
The vast majority of terrorist movements in the last 100 years have been directed against regimes, democratic or otherwise, that owed their existence to foreign powers (i.e. movements in Greece, Algeria, and Germany). Any thoughts?

I agree 100%. The type of government does not directly relate to terrorism. What would be the case by that logic for the Oklahoma City Bombing, a terrorist action by America's own citizens, or Eco-terrorism, which is somewhat common in America, since we are a representative democracy and not a dictatorship? Or how would one explain our revolution, which was a terrorist act against a Monarchy?

"Amerika-uber-alles proselytization" ... LOL ... I guess there's no such thing as somebody who loves their country, gotta be a facist. Amazing.
"It is reaction against foreign powers who support rulers who have no legitimacy in the eyes of their people" ... No, revolution is a reaction to that. Knocking down an office building is not a legit reaction. French resistance in World War Two good, Osama bad. See?
A guy standing around with a sign that says "Israel stinks" I can have respect for. This guy blows up a school bus, I no longer care WHY he did it. See how it works? Terrorism is illegitimate per se.
Dictatorship can twist a society to such an extent that the people start thinking "blowing myself up while murdering people is actually a good idea." Nobody in a sane society thinks that. Dictatorships inculcate the people, starting in the kids' schools. Every day. And constantly in the official religion of the dictatorship.
Hello, Saudi Arabia is a dictatorship, you're proving my point! And Osama is a dictator-wanna-be. Osama thinks the religion-police in Saudi Arabia are TOO MEEK!
Pretty cute how you blame America, the victim of 9-11. Do you blame a woman for being sexually assaulted?
How would you end world terrorism?
By the way, Oklahoma City, that terrorist thought America was too much of a dictatorship, so his "dictatorship" caused his terrorism. He was a bad guy too.
Tho, of course, nobody says "All terrorism is caused by dictatorships," and nobody says, "all dictatorships cause terrorism." But I'm still right.
At least you have the nerve to address me directly. Bring it on. My basic point: terrorism is illegitimate, and dictatorships foment terrorism, and you can't blame the victims of terrorism.

Personally, I think it's the other way around. Terrorism leads to a dictatorship. Funny thing, at least half of the alleged 9/11 terrorists are known to be still alive. The bottom line is, we have been lied to big time for the furtherance of a diabolical agenda that will enslave us all in a police state. Don't believe the lies and misinformation they're feeding us. We must never be satisfied until all truth is revealed.

while Terrorists are no longer able to pass into international places with unknown identities or popular terrorists who earnings get admission to right into a rustic by using fact of Democracy, then it somewhat is probably to no longer have assaults by using fact they are going to be arrested till now the plots can ensue. Like each thing else there a time to each purpose, previous heads die or be killed and with out an electric powered outlet there is no electrical energy there could no longer be an end yet they are going to weaken finally. Terrorism is approximately Islam and the conversion of the western custom, yet Christianity is the oldest faith and has many Islamic converts than Sharia regulation can enable.

Terrorism is not 'spawned' by anything but a rabid desire to kill someone else.
What you are referring to is "freedom fighters".
The simple difference between the two is this'
'Freedom Fighters" target the enemy.
"Terrorists" target anyone they can.
Kill as many enemy possible and I'll call you a Freedom Fighter.
Kill one innocent civilian, and you're a Terrorist.
Do not for one second call these KAFIR in Iraq, Somalia, or Lebanon 'Freedom Fighters'.... they are murdering Terrorists.
In Mindanao, Malaysia, and/or East Timor they have also targeted civilians but not to the same degree and have actually backed off somewhat from what I've heard. but they have still killed innocent civilians so until they bring the responsible ones to justice, they're still terrorists in my eyes.

It is proven scientifically that anybody when indoctrinated at the right time can be made to do the most inhuman acts .
When certain beliefs are spread they can be used for this brainwashing. Any belief is some kind of religion.
It happens in all war. You have to really utterly criminalize the opponent to get yourself fired up to blast him out of existence.
some call it training.

Terrorism is the direct result of religious teachings. They brainwash someones mind into thinking that blowing yourself up along with innocent people is with the approval of (their) God and the act itself guarantees your entry into heaven. The way to eliminate terrorist acts is to outlaw religious teachings that glorify this kind of belief. If governments & dictators support these kind of religious teachings, well then they should themselves, be eliminated by any means possible.
