No, the violence in Iraq is no longer about Iraq and the occupiers. It stems from religious strife of the Sunnis versus the Shia. They are redistricting the towns and villages through means of violence and fear to carve out their influences in the post-Saddam era.
We americans are pretty powerless to really do much as we are hamstrung by the Iraqi government to be nice, and our own unwillingness to dirty our hands even more in the bloody aftermath. Without improving the economy and making it so these people have something better to do, we'll just continue to see violence for years to come.

Because Saddam Hussain has been inactive for the past few months, his execution will have very little impact on violence in Iraq. I can hardly believe that the death of one former tyrannical ruler will change the course of the already high levels of sectarian violence in an unstable country.

No, I believe it will be the same if not worse. Theses Islamic radicals are bent on the destruction of the united states and any other legitimate democracy, like Israel. It will only end when they(the Terrorists) are destroyed. It will be a very long time.

I am afraid it will fuel the fire. I think that there are many people who are still devoted to him and I think they will go crazy - and now that there is no hope for the old leader to come back, they may well pick a new one. A younger hot head perhaps? Let's hope not. Let's hope it goes the other way.
Peace!

It will increase...Saddam will definitely be seen as a martyr judged and killed by the American occupant...and his supporters will try to revenge his death...
