Do we get a day off of work because Ford has passed away?

Actually we did get a day off of work for ever president except for two. When Regan died we had a day off 6 days after he died.

Show some respect!That is all anyone cares about these days,how much money they can make without accually working!Or how much partying they can do on a 3 day weekend & if possible,eke 4 days out of it!
We just had Christmas for God's sake!

From what I have heard, if you work directly for the federal goverment or any goverment regulated institution (post office, banks, etc.) there is a likely chance that you will be off on the day of the actual funeral in honor of our late President.

Most probably not. Maybe some employers may give their employees that option. I would imagine that you won't get a day off, from either work or school. Have a good day.

If you're a federal worker they usually give you the day off or part of the day off. I'll know for sure by tomorrow if it's going to be a long weekend for me or not. Cheers.

Right....I live near downtown Grand Rapids and I'm trying to plan an alternate route just to get to work! It would help if I knew when the funeral is going to be. I guess we will find that out later today.

I work for the government and I don't get it off but I sure like your way of thinking.I'm most certainly going to bring it up at the next meeting.

I doubt it. Too, it could depend on the state. When Nixon died they flew the flag at half mast but can't remember if the school kids were around.
