Many recent events have brought to the fore the question of how to treat soldiers who are accused of a crime.

Some say we should let it go. Support the troops no matter what and understand that we have asked them to risk their lives, witness things no human being should witness so we should have compassion with those who might crack under the strain.

Some say it's impossible for our troops to act criminally and that any suggestion of criminal activity is simple propaganda from the enemy.

Others say you should prosecute all crimes according to the laws of the US and it's military.

How do you feel about all this?

BBC News reported it this morning. This was told by undisclosed US soldiers who claim that ohers are doing this on a daily basis and are threatening the lives of the Iraqi families if they tell.

Do you consider people in say, Iraq, who attack ONLY military targets (i.e. don't bomb or terrorize their own people) terrorists or rebels fighting an occupying power? Regardless of who is right or wrong in this war (there is rarely any right or wrong in war anyway) do you think Iraqis have the right to defend their country, as long as they aren't terrorizing civilians (either within Iraq or outside of it)? Your thoughts.

I hear people quote O'Reilly and Hannity as if they have any credibility. They seem to me as simply shills for the Bush administration. I know FOX watchers and Limbaugh listeners will want to take this opportunity to rant about evil liberals, so go for it!
