I personally think it should be legalized or at least decriminalized it does less damage than alcohol. And if legalized the gov could tax it and make millions on the sales. It would also remove the gang problem illegal of sales and distribution. I did a reearch paper on this subject in college and that ws before the medical benefits were even known.SO know it makes even more sense to legalize it. It was only criminalized after the repeal of prohibition and certaain law men were at risk of losing their jobs.

If we could stop people using it before they have formed a view of themselves and the world, we would be saving a lot of people from serious mental health problems. I think using it from about 30 years old is less dangerous. Teenagers/children are vulnerable to its introverting and paranoic effects, and I would support any sensible debate on how they can be protected. Drug-induced paranoia and depression can affect anyone, so would I advovate education and honest open discussion. Its fun, and its a massive problem.

You know, I have tried many "drugs" Some I liked too much. I have a friend though that loves to get high. She quit smoking while she was pregnant but still got high!? She will lock herself in the bathroom and tell her kid she doesn"t feel good and it will be awhile just to get high. So I say if it doesn't affect other people then go for it. I go for alot of things but come on there is a time for everything!

First of all, unlike most illegal drugs, marijuana grows NATURALLY! The government doesn't add it's own chemicals
to enhance the addictive properties. (Cocaine and heroin come from natural plants, and don't become deadly until the government finishes it's process).

Alcohol and cigarettes kill more people yearly than all other illegal drugs combined!--And those are LEGAL drugs!!!

Marijuana is a natural relaxant with many helpful medicinal properties.
It CAN be abused.--But so can anything else that feels so good!

It is illegal as there is no revenue stream for the government from its sale.

If the govenment could effectively tax it as they do with alcohol and tobacco, I posit the suggestion that we would find there would be far fewer issues with its use.

Personally, I'd rather be around stoners than drunks any day of the week.

Nothing. I never tried (illegal) drugs before. As a partly liberal guy, I'd say it should be legalised becuase it's the individual's right to risk his/her health, but I can also understand those who oppose it saying that it's so addictive it doesn't give you the freedom to choose using and not using it. Let the majority of the people decide.

Well, I don't think it should be legalized because even though people say that they'll use it in moderation, you and I both know they won't. It's just like alcohol; it's legal if you use it without drinking so much that you become intoxicated, but people get drunk and do dangrous things anyway.

Personally, it's illegal because it causes people to do stupid things, that are harmful to others. For all I care, smoke it all you want, as long as you're chained up or on a different planet until the effect wears off...your life, ruin it if you want to, but not others.

I think it's ok......it's been in use for for hundreds, if not thousands of years, comes from a plant, so I don't see anything especially wrong with it, so long as the user is careful and moderate........

I think it should be legal and that it is less harmful then beer in many ways. It is by far the best mental health drug around.
