In the begining you have 50 points each question costs you 10 points. So you can ask only 5 questions. But you can earn more points. Every time you log on you get 1 point every time you answer questions you get 2 points. And if your answer is judged best you get 10 points. Thus as earn you more, you you can ask more questions.
You are not limited to 5 only.

You get more as time goes on. The more you are active (in different ways-like answering questions), the more questions you will be able to ask over time!

That's because you are only in level 1, but as you gain more points and increase in level you are allowed to ask more questions.
