I have created a ramp for my dog due to back problems and surgery. He cannot get to or from the yard without encountering stairs. I have created a ramp for yard access, but it gets quite slick in the rain and winter.

I have searched all the DIY stores and garden centres. I know they are not the most fashionable, but I like them. I was after 3 or 4 white high back, reclining chairs. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok lets put it this way. I live in Southern Cali where its 103 on a 3rd floor apartment with a lil room AC. When I come home from work I can only bare to be in there a lil while till the sun goes down and then still its a freaking hot box.

So Im trying to find the best way to fix my issue. Some ideas I have had are get a box fax and put it in front of the AC to give it a extra oomph of blowing around the cool air. I can only sit in front of it for so long. Next was to open the windows and door and stick a box fan out the window so it sucks out all the hot air. Blow the air out not in. BUT I have to wait til 9pm or later to do that. Any other ideas that may help? Im up to anything.

I usually pay my rent on the first day of the month. I told the landlord house that I plan to move out in two weeks time. He said that I should give him 30 days notice otherwise I won't get my deposit back. It's fine by me for as long I can move out as soon as possible & won't have to pay for the next month rent. But he disagreed! You think this is fair?

I live in southern california. It has been about 110 over here with humidity. My average bill is usually 127.38. Last month it shot to 279.60. Ok I said to myself, it has been hot and I have used the a/c some. Then I get this month's bill...855.65!!!!! This looks like a definite error right? I called So Cal Edison. They had me read my meter to them and said that the bill was correct and I had to pay. That is almost as much as my house payment! They have payment plans but it is every two weeks instead of billing cycles so that was no help. BTW, she also advised me that was with the CARE credit and that there will be an increase next month here in Cali. Does anyone have any advice on how to negotiate the bill down. I just don't see how it went from 127.38 to 855.65!!!! Please Help!

We have lizards on the back wall of our house at night. We can't open the door after dark or near dark without several of the little buggers getting in. They don't look like your average "house" lizard, either. They are creepy and "boneless" looking. We haven't found a way to keep them out of the house or off the walls. And searching the internet hasn't helped either. We've had people tell us to get a cat, but we live in town and cats or dogs have to be leashed. Leashing a cat would not be acceptable to me or the cat. Any suggestions?

I live in New York, does anyone one know of a good way to come about foreclosed homes either here in NY or NJ? All these websites on the Internet want to charge a fee. Is there some public listing available to the public. Also, any help on this process would be appreciated, I don't understand much about it..

Thank You...

your county does not have records of when you house was built??
They have a date of 1890 but we have town maps that our house was here in 1850's.
It's just for our own use, our house has some great historical items in it, the original winding staircase is still here.

I just dug up my lawn prior to laying a new lawn and garden. Below is a 12mx10m ants nest! How do I get rid of it permanently before laying new lawn and garden? If I put down ant killer, it'll kill these, but they'll presumably be back soon... Ideally, I'd like to avoid using chemicals, and anything that will damage the garden / other animals.

There was a company at http://www.softair-furniture.com/eng/items.php which sold inflatable sofas. Unlike this cheap beach-stuff, there was a cover made of cloth, so that you can use the sofa e.g. in your living room. As I will be moving quite a lot in the next time such a sofa would be really handy. Unfortunately I can't find them anywhere. Neither eBay nor any other websites. It seems that they were sold for about 10-20€ in 2002 in some European countries

Does anyone have a hint where I can buy such a kind of sofa? I would prefer a shop in Austria or Europe - but every other locations is ok too (as long as they send you the stuff by post).

I have the large black ants everywhere in my house. I can be sitting on the couch or just walking through the house and see them crawl across the floor. I was exercising in the floor and one bit me on the arm. How do you get rid of them or stop them from coming into the house?
