I srew a lightbulb in and when it blows out I twist to remove it and the glass seperates from the bulb....how to make it smooth so this doesn't happen

Make sure the switch is OFF.
Then take a piece of bread and mold it in your hand so it's doughy and then dab it around inside the socket. The broken glass will adhere and stick into the bread. After the socket is clear, spray some WD-40 on a rag and swab down the socket.

Any grease will do. Only put it on the bulb base when it burns out. The oxide usually is very minimal. If it is a car bulb socket it needs more care. Use a conducting grease like anti-seize.

if you can get some die-electric grease from the auto parts store works the best that's what is designed for if you cant get it try Vaseline
