I know to unplug everything first. But when the bulb is broken off, it is hard to grab ahold of anything to unscrew the bulb. Is there any other way?

I have bleed the radiator and every other one in the house (there was no air in any of them). I have checked both valves (the thermostatic valve is not sticking). There is another radiator on the other side of the wall that works perfectly. I have a combi boiler and the pressure is about 1.5 bar when cold and 1.8 bar when hot. It stopped heating up about 2 weeks ago and as I said was gradually getting cooler over about a 2 week period. I could feel the intal pipe was hot but the is now not hot any more. I was wondering whether there is pressure from the outlet pipe stopping the water from flowing through...

We just bought a house and this morning I was washing clothes and water came from under the washer. Doesn't make any weird noises, runs just fine. I have never dealt with this before.

Many people said that there are satefy concerns, even life threatening, but didn't elaborate. Others, on the other hand, said that there is no point in switching to breaker panels.

Besides the convenience of breaker panels, can you elaborate what are the safety concerns to upgrade from fuses to circuit breaker? ... or is this a myth?

Thanks

House: 100 amps, all copper, fuses, 55 yro.

i really liked the chrome car in the tv ads a few years back, and ive always lieked sparkling silver surfaces...
how would i be able to make a car like this?
could i weld lots of small circular pieces of silvery metal the size of a 5 pence piece all over a car?
what im thinking s that if i do that rather than have one smooth mirror surface, it would break up the relections rather like the compound eye of an insects eye.
if i had some icy blue pieces as well, i could have a silver&blue car that would make the icebergs weep!

anyone have any altenative ideas how i could have my chrome/silver car

My deck really needs some attention - the snow and rain are not beading up the way it used to and it's absorbing into the wood.
What do you think?

I just moved to this house and it has a wood burning stove. I've never had one before. When i have it going, there is a strong campfire smell. I have the vents open and everything. it even makes my clothes have that camp fire odor. Should it smell that strong or is there something wrong?

I've already pointed it out to him along with his bramble bush that ruined the pebble dash on the front of our house. He's done nothing about it and with the bad weather here, the rain from his gutter is pouring on to our front step.... it also keeps us awake at night and really, how many times do you have to speak to someone about this kind of thing. If it was the other way around, we'd have sorted it by now. We stay in bought houses, not council rented ones, otherwise I would have been able to complain to them at least.

My neighbour has mould growing on the inside of his external walls in his bedrooms, the brickwork is 9 inch solid work built in the 1920's, my house which is connected to his has no problem whatsoever, the pointing looks fairly good from outside, he thinks that rendering will solve it , could he be right or is there other causes?

I went through a lot of trouble with this particular apartment I was planning on moving into but I went tthrough it and I moved in on New year's eve. Now, I'm finding out that the shower will only have enough hot water for 5 minutes so after 5 minutes the water gets cool instead of hot. I called the landlord and he said it's because it's tankless so it only last 5 minutes and I have to take a quick shower. I asked him if he can install a water heater and he said no. He's not going to waste $1000 to install just for me. I commented that the other unit has it and he said that the other unit's tankless heater was broken so he had to replace it.

Anyhow, I don’t think I can stand taking 5 minutes hot shower since I live in MA. What are my options? Can I sue him and make him install the heater or can I sue him and get back my first and last month rent, my moving expenses, payment for the hours I spent cleaning, and for moving cost to another location? Or am I out of luck...

These are supposed to prevent you from drilling into a cable and killing yourself. I'm trying to find them on eBay but don't know what they're called. I'm putting some shelves and stuff up at home and don't particularly want thousands of volts coursing through my body. I'm still young and handsome. Well, young anyway.

Ok So we have some sort of creature in our kitchen sink. We think its possibly a huge rat or mouse. It bangs around and pushes the door open and it slams creating tons of noise and its getting real annoying. Its been going on for months. Is it wrong for me to kill it with a daisy high powered bb gun? Or is that inhumane? Just wondering.
(We've tried mousetraps, sticky pads ect.) So now Im sitting here with a flash light and the bbgun waiting for it to make noise and waiting for a answer from you guys.
