I bought some Passion Flower plants (Passiflora incarnata a.k.a. Maypop) and am hoping they will eventually set fruit. The seller told me they are self-fruiting, yet I'm not so sure. I would hate to wait until they bloom, just to find out they won't self-fertilize!

Does anybody know for sure if they are or are not self-fruiting? Is there a way I can find out (without waiting until it's too late)?

If they aren't self-fruiting, do I need to get the same type of plant for fertilization, or a different species of Passion Flower (which one?) Or does it not matter?

I'm not worried about pollination, plenty of bees and butterflies around! :)

Thanks!

Does anyone know how to do this? What type of clipping do I use (hardwood or softwood)? What's the best time of year to do it? How long does it take? What mixture should I use (%sand, % peat moss...etc)? Please be specific. My mother is 72 and I don't expect her to live alot longer. Her camelia in her front yard is her favorite tree. She's had it forever and I would never dig it up and move it, but I would like to have an offspring of it to grow old w/ me and be a token of my memories w/ my mom. Any advice will help! Thanks in advance!!

We decided to try growing watermelon this year. The vine has strectched onto the lawn and I noticed one tiny watermelon on the dirt side and another on the lawn side.

At this point, can I just let it grow on the lawn? Do I need to raise it, and if so, how? Is it too late to put in some mesh fence to have it climb somewhat?

Truth be told--it's too late to believe that the watermelon will be ripe before it gets too cold here in Maryland, but it's still fun to see it grow.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

This is my first time growing the mamoth sunflowers. I thought that its head always follow the position of the sun. When my first one drooped, I thought it was dying so I pulled it up. Now I have replanted a couple and the same thing is happening to them. I love the beautiful flower, but Its drooping. What props are to lift the head up or will it be wise to leave it alone? Please advise. Thanks!

Hi, I have a one oriental poppy plant and I would like to get more out of it, I am wondering if you can divide the plant in half and transplant it else where. When is the best time to transplant them?
How do I get more plants by the plant that I have...I do also have some poppy plants that I take the seed that is in the pod and use them, but the Oriental doesn't have any seed like the other poppy plant that I have.
I am also wondering were can I purchase more Oriental Poppys. I have search everywhere with no luck...the oriental that I have now was a gift from a friend, and she ordered it from a school child that was selling plants for a fundrasier.
Irises ~ I have some irises that have large leaves? They stand about 4 ft..when they bloom I get a small flower that is yellow, once the flowering is done the flower turns into a cocoon like pod....has anyone every seen something like this if so what type of Iris is it?

I have several clusters of volunteer flowers that pop up all through my back yard between spring and fall. They are beautiful and I would like to plant some on purpose, as my lawn mowing man plows them over without fail. Can anyone help me, or suggest where I might look online?

They look like smaller day lilies, but they don't open quite as far as any of the pictures I've seen. They are a light dusty pink color (almost a bit purplish), with no variation. The color is solid. They have very long stamens... a sort of darker pink... that stick out past the petals.

Thank you!

IT's an indoor plant. It is in my bathroom and has a sky light above it, so it gets a reasonable amount of light.
Recently the ends have gone brown and crunchy.
I'm really upset about it because everyone used to think it was a fake plant, because it looked so perfect.
