We used 25 to 30 bags of mulch in my mother's yard this year. My husband buys it by the yard (loose) and brings it to our house in the back of a truck. I am trying to compare the price to see which is more economical. I just need to know how many bags are in a yard.

The junk lawn is a mix of weedy grass I don't like. Right now its practically dead because of little rain fall, though it always comes back after some rain.

A landscaping buddy suggested I kill it (with herbicide), rototill it, wait a couple of weeks, kill it again (more herbicide) and till some top soil into it, then replanting sawd (sp?)

Another other suggestions?

Hi, I planted 2 beds of New Wave Petunias this spring. They are new beds, this is the first year to have New Wave Petunias in them. They are flower beds next to each other in front of our sunroom but have a space in between where a rose bush is planted.
The problem is the petunias were planted at the same time, one side is lush and growing beautifully. The plants on the other side have all wilted and died one at a time, we've replaced them on the bad side, but I noticed one of the new ones look wilted and dying now. I watered both the same, we haven't had a lot of rain, I'm in south GA. hour south of Atlanta. I've never seen anything like this before and have planted number of things in this area over the last 15 yrs we have lived here,
Does anyone know anything I can try to do? Thanks, Debbie

I tried removing the whole faded flowers by yanking it off from the stem. The stem and the root is still intact but without the top part (flower). Is that the right way to encourage blooming?

I use self-propelled mower. It cuts the grass into tiny pieces that fall back to the yard and decompose quickly, letting the nutruition back to the yard and redcue the needs for fertilizer.

Push (reel) mower is environmental friendly becasue it doesn't produce air and noise pollution. However, it doesn't cut the grass to pieces like the gas lawn-mower. Will it cause thatch problem if the grass left in the lawn?

I have this rose bush that's not quite a bush. It's more like a single thorny stalk with one pink rose. Is this the remnant of what once was a bush? I don't know if there's much hope for this thing to be more than just a sucker-like growth. I don't want to destroy it, but I'd like to relocate it to another part of my property and replace it with a new fuller bush from the nursery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

plant seeds and have them grow this late?

Recently bought home... grass was awful. Huge bare area and filled with weeds throughout. This spring, I just filled in most bare areas with grass seed, and it took pretty well. There are still some barespots and weeds have been coming in pretty hefty in bare spots and everywhere else.

I was going to use Scotts Turf Builder Plus 2 Weed Killer now to kill weeds. Should I use that - is that the best next step?

OR... should I keep pulling weeds and planting grass seed? Because I know if I use the Scotts with weed killer, I can't plant grass seed for about 4-6 weeks.

Ultimately, what should I do next?
