I received a beautiful potted azalea "from florist" and also 2 Large rose bushes. Can the azalea be placed in the ground outside? It has already started to droop so I know that I will have to trim it back. Also can rose bushes do well in large containers? I have no area to plant them in that would receive the sun that they need.

I'm a gardening virgin, just started this spring with absolutely no history whatsoever.

I've planted jalapeno's and yellow peppers, about 15 in all, in a 12 x 12 foot garden.

Do they need a lot of sun? Should I be getting plant food (which I have been using)? Or should I just let nature take it's course while making sure they are properly watered?

What are the odds of a beginner murdering these type of vegetable plants?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I live in East Texas and my dog found two snakes in the monkey grass surrounding our patio...they were black, mottled colored with a very yellow belly. Both were about 3 feet long, about big around as a silver dollar, with a pointy tail and a blunt nose. Any ideas what kind, are they poison? My little dog wrestled it until I could get them apart, but was not bitten.

I was doing some gardening when I heard a GIANT buzz whosh by my ear! Thinking it was a bee, I screeched, ducked, and turned around only to find a hummingbird about 3 feet away staring at me while it hung in mid-air. I think it was smirking. Why was it so interested in me!!??

It looks like it's snowing outside because there are millions of cotton-like thingies that are flying off this tree. What's the name of the tree and what can you do about it?

My plants are being eaten and the only bugs I see in the garden are slugs, snails and tons of pill bugs. I know about the slugs and snails and have treated for them. I don't want to use too much pestiside as I am trying to attract butterfies and their caterpillers. What can I do?

when a plant's instructions say "give about an inch to an inch and a 1/2 a week" does that mean only give it an inch of water or make sure it always has an inch of water in there. it's a gerbera daisy plant by the way and it keeps drooping =(

In my yard the grass is not greener over the spetic tank. Maybe the tank was not buried deep enough, but grass does not grow there. I would like to get those big, flat pieces of stone (limestone or slate?) and put them over that area. Will that affect the functioning of the tank? I realize they would have to be moved if I should ever have to have the tank pumped. Please advise and thanks!

I have several of these plants in my flower beds, they are blooming beautifully but some of the older blooms are fading. I was wondering if I am supposed to prune the whole stem or just kind of flake off the little dead flowers? Any advice would help. Thanks!

My dog did it right in front of me and was obviously trying to get my attention (she got it). So, I replanted it right away and watered it, but only a short time, like 30 minutes, passed and it is looking droopy. Will it recover or should I replace it? It was just starting to shoot up and has about 3 bloom spikes on it.

Hi, I have many mother in law tounge or snake plants as some people call them, they are very hardy and was wondering if I could plant them outside or what house plants do good outside. I live in Wisconsin and have alot of sandy soil.
