when a plant's instructions say "give about an inch to an inch and a 1/2 a week" does that mean only give it an inch of water or make sure it always has an inch of water in there. it's a gerbera daisy plant by the way and it keeps drooping =(

Not sure what that means exactly but with Gerbera Daisy's you should set a plate under the pot and allow it to water from the bottom up. They make planters with a spout type thing on bottom and you add water there and the plants drinks it as needed. Take off dead parts too. Just type in your search bar Gerbera Daisy and you can find out anything about them.

When it's in bloom, just keep it evenly most. BARELY moist, not swimming. Never leave standing water.

When it's out of bloom, let it dry out, then moisten, and repeat until bloom time.
