It's just letting you know the he's in command; and you're in his space! They chirp at you to warn you.

This was on a website that may explain why they were interested in you.
haven't seen any humming birds in about a week at the main feeder in the middle of the yard/ and absolutely none (so I thought) at the feeder in the kitchen window, so decided when there was a lull in rain from the trop storm going thru here/ to go out and take down the k feeder and refill the others. I didn't hardly get in the house when low and behold...there "he" was hovering around where I had taken down the liquid feeder and put up my thistle. I swear he hovered looking in at me as if to say _Lady..where's my feeder??....... by now it's raining again/ and being the true HB lover went out... ran around changing all the feeders back to what they were.... and by gosh... he has fed there for 2 solid days..... morning thru night! I'd say we must have a nest nearby as he's gone about 2 min. and returns again........ am I guessing right? Usually I only see him/her about 7 p.m. when the sun is going down.
Last year, I had all my feeders out so I'd have to take them down, go wash and clean and refill...usually I'd do it at night, but when I didn't the little guys would come and just hover around the hook where it was supposed to be. I could see them from my kitchen window and it would just crack me up! Now I have enough feeders that I take clean ones out to replace the old with out disturbing their "routine".

Hummingbirds are naturally curious. Ours will fly up to us and all the other birds and just stare at us or them. But usually they will come check you out if you are wearing something that is a bright color. When I wear a red hair tie, I can hear ours behind me all the time.

What color clothes did you have on? He probably thought you were a flower! I love to watch the hummingbirds, I have a feeder for them, you can even hold a feeder in your hands and after awhile they will come to it. They sure are loud though aren't they? You can go to birdsandblooms.com and see stories about them.

It may have been attracted to either your perfume or the scent of your soap. They are also just curious little things... If you want more to hang around get a humming bird feeder and food... they can be quite entertaining.

Humming bird are really attracted to some ting color full like cloths or hair or big with a light color like ears .Because that's how the plants that they lick on for energy look like . either that or it was it was looking for a bug to feed its young in your hair .Not that there was probably one.
And their not scared of getting close to humans to do so.
Don't worry it probably wasn't going to attack you.

If birds are nesting nearby they will often distract `predators` who enter their territory. They will also `buzz` cats or dogs. I imagine you are in southern USA, here in UK climate is too cold for such wonders. Jealous.
