Recently single. Can use washing machine and the likes but need help on the finer points of house chores. A lot of cotton and cotton blend shirts these days come with labels that say "DO NOT BLEACH". Anyone out there got a good method for getting shirts white.

I just had to ask, do the foaming carpet-cleaner sprays that you spray on the carpet, rub them in, and then vacuum up, really work? Or do they just add more junk to your carpet fibers?

My underwear or other small articles of clothing always turn inside-out whenever I wash them, and if it doesn't happen in the washer, it happens in the dryer. I am getting sick of turning them rightside-out every time. How can I prevent them from turning inside-out?

I am cleaning the bathroom and in the sink is white porcelain. Around the faucet it's yellow and looks "burnt" - I'm thinking it's lime or mildew or something from the water?
How do I get rid of it? I am trying Clorax with bleach (and scrubbing with a scrubber) as well as other items that say they are for soap, mildew scum, etc....but nothing seems to be working.

What about plain ole' bleach??
OR

I am also gonna scrub down the shower/bath which isn't as bad, but still has some "water" stains that are from the water faucet.

Any suggestions, ideas would help!

Thank you!

My Mom is finally going to replace her Jenn Air downdraft cooktop and likes the idea of the glass/smooth surface because it should be much easier to clean than coils. As long as one is careful NoT to use anything abrasive on it, and uses the right cleaning product, are they easy [or hard] to clean? and keep clean???

Also, she's worried about the possibility of breaking the glass top. I know many people have...and she's worried that she may accidentally drop a pot and ruin her new stove. Does one have to be extremely careful? not to break it? It seems to me, one has to simply learn a whole new way of caring for/cleaning and a new way of cooking, basically. Is this right?

We'd just like some help from those of you with experience with this type of cooktop. Is ceramic really best, or should she be satisfied with coils? Thanks Very Much!

I am on a neverending quest for a nice fresh smell in my room. My house has plenty of animals in it, but i am concentrating on my bedroom. It is carpeted. I am starting to not like sprays (even febreeze) or airfreshners...they seem so chemical! like i am putting layers on layers of chemicals on things like my bed spread, carpet, and curtains. Even carpet freshning powders i am starting to not like.

I am not a fan of the perfumy things anymore (maybe 1 candle is ok for me). What can i use in my room to give it that fresh clean feeling without feeling so heavy and chemically?

Also, my room doesnt smell awful at all...if anything, it is heavilly perfumed from so many products.

My dog's fur is everywhere. I tried washing my black coat, and the fur, still would not come off. I tried a lint remover, didn't work, and it takes too long. I really don't want my clothes to be in dog fur, so what are some ways!

I have a kirby carpet cleaner and just wanted to know if you can shampoo your carpets each week or if this is a bit excessive? I have small children and pets in the house and like to keep it clean.
