This is normal. You should open the windows and make sure small pets such as birds, Hamsters etc are in a well ventilated area. The fumes could kill them.

I have experienced the same thing with my stove. I think the smell comes from the droppings in the stove burning into ashe. The more droppings, the more fumes. The smell is really bad, and can travel through your home. Open windows or doors for a few minutes to let some smell out. It helps to wipe out the oven much as possible before turning it on.

That should burn off after the first time. It will always have a smell and may bother you as it does bother some.... You may want to try cleaning it overnight when you are sleeping or maybe when you know you will be gone but someone else is home.

assuming you didn't leave something in the oven......it may be some initial chemical that will burn out after the first time. Check any drawers for signs of something melting. I had my instruction book in the lower drawer.....it got crisp.

I'd also contact the manufacturer tomorrow on their toll free number and ask them. I had an range try to catch fire on the timed cooking setting..wiring problem....fortunately my brother walked in and turned off the stove. Things can go wrong.

ohh, i hate that smell. it is completely normal. it is the food burning off of the oven surfaces. i would recommend trying to clean off as much food stuff as you can before you run the self cleaner to reduce the amount of food that has to be burned off. don't use anything too serious because it may screw up the inside surface of the oven. get used to that smell because it will happen every time you clean the oven. crack a window because there isn't much you can do about it. sorry...

It's horrible, isn't it? You'd better open a window.
