The refrigerator is my neighbor's parents' and is in excellent condition. She got a new one by default from her other son who purchased the wrong size for his new house.

I am moving into a house with a pale blue carpet. But my couch is chocolate brown, my curtains are brown and gold and I have an antique gold mirror and pictures frames on the walls. How do I tie these colors in together? Like what color throw pillows should I use for the couch. Should I buy a big area rug to cover up as much carpet as possible?

Hi Everyone,
My husband found an exploded D battery in a small appliance. Of couse, when he tried to remove the battery, it fell on the floor and got the "battery juice" on the carpet. What's the best way to clean up the mess? He thinks vacuuming is the way to go but I'm not so sure.

PS: I have a toddler. I want to make sure that there's no residue left behind for him to find.

Thanks!

My friend wants to close off part of her apartment for privacy when company comes. She asked me to investigate accordion doors for her, for use in a doorway which has no door. I did, and found some good sites, but she has an arched doorway, and I do not think one can install the track from wall to wall without having a full-length straight top to attach to. I think drapes, which take less weight, can be used instead, with a curtain rod across the top, just under the arch.
Can accordion doors be used in an arched doorway?

so, I'm washing my laundry now, and am in a little bit of a pickle. I am not sure what load to put a pair of underwear in. They look similar to the "ice cream scoop": http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=ZU-204225&page=1&cgname=OSPTYPINPNT&rfnbr=1940

now, should I put it in lights, or darks? I'm confused because it's basically white, but there's like hot pink, and orange on it also. PLEASE HELP! :)
