many houses in spain have a roof with exposed timber beams inside, covered with what looks like flat terracotta tiles. but on the outside the tiles are those traditional curved spanish ones. are the spanish ones flat on the bottom?! or is there something in between?!

Sometimes my hot water is only lukewarm, other times it is so hot I can't even wash my hair in the shower. It has been like this for as long as I've owned my home (4 years). When the water was scalding hot one time I turned it to a very low setting and that helps sometimes but the water still is acting up. It was really hot all the time for the last week until I turned it down yet again. what's going on?

Is there any sort of substance that deters them? Our kitchen floor is often infested with ants and not only is it extremely frustrating but it's also very unhygenic.

One can see on the ends of the tube when turned on a little glow but fails to light the bulb. When I twist the tube back and forth a few times I can get it to light up and stay lit. Then when I turn it off at the switch and try again it does the same thing. Everything is brand new. Thanks for your help.

Well , a week ago I purchase an herb kit. I followed the directions.
First, I poured warm water in a bowel. Than I put the pellets of soil in them to make them grow and rise. Than I put them into the clay pots that came with the kit. Put the seeds in. Every day following the instruction, I have than sprayed water every other day. Still have not seen anything go up.
So why is it that in the cooking shows they alway's have these healthy looking growing herbs in their pods?

It has very large green leaves, it is about 4 ft. tall right now, and the stalk is VERY thick, about 3 inches around and is a reddish, purple color. Anyone know where is can find out what this plant is or may be, or do you know what it might be? Any websites? Please help, I think it might be some type of fruit bearing tree, as we have been throwing our fruit seeds out in the backyard for years.Thanks.

I'd like to plant flowers, but I don't want the weeds in there. I've heard of people using the black, garbage bag-like stuff, to choke out the weeds. How does that work? Or do you have other ideas for my dirty weeded front yard?

I live in New England where it doesn't normally get that hot, but this year it's already in the 90's and its only May. I need to keep the rooms upstairs cool without use of an air conditioner. Every room has a fan and we have coverered up all the windows with dark fabric to try to keep the cool air in. But its still HOT. Any ideas?
