I'm trying to hang up a framed picture in my room but I have no idea where the wood is behind the wall? Is it called a stud or no? I don't want to make little holes all over my wall so how do I find out?

Did you install it? Was it difficult?
Value for price?

I've got some huge curtains - my ceilings are 14ft high and they're in a cream cotton and lined. I can't afford to dry clean them as I think they'll be really expensive but they are very dusty - is there anyway I could dryclean them myself? They are definitely dryclean only and can't be washed or they will shrink.

I have a hot water heater, not more than 7 years old, that runs on natural gas that is leaking a trickle of water from underneath, which spills out onto our cement floor of our basement. Does anyone know what this could possibly mean. When I called Roto Rooter this morning, their preliminary estimate was I needed a brand new one. Is anyone familiar with this?

We are trying sale a house in Neosho Missouri and relocate to Arkansas. I already have a job and am in Arkansas, but my husband isn't. Its not a fancy house, but it is a nice house with a lot of possibilities. The market is slow and so far we haven't had any luck. We've had it up for sale by owner for about 6 weeks. We had it up for sale with a realtor for about 3 months last spring. Does anyone have any suggestions at all as to how to hurry along the sale of this house? We're desperate....We'll try anything.....

I have been living in the same place since March of this year.
I signed an orginal lease for 6 months, however the property has been sold. New owners seem to be regular people but i didn't sign a lease because i knew that i would not be living there much longer so i am on a month to month basis now. Here is my question, if the house was purchased like most home AS IS then shouldn't there be no question in get my deposit back seeing as any damages that were there damages prior to me living there and prior to them purchasing the house. I took photos of everything before i official moved in. How long should i expect to wait until i recieve my full deposit.?

These windows are too high to reach without a ladder that extends. I thought maybe there is something out there that will help, as there is for changing high light bulbs.

Moved into a house and found it is actually a 'bed bug' house. We reported this problem to the landlord and had three times pest control in this 3 weeks. During this time, we stayed overnight in friend's room and only slept in house twice. One is the first night when we didn't know we got bugs in room, and the second time was when new mattress arrived and also 7 days after pest control. However, that night i only slept one hour and was woken up by bed bug bite.
Under this condition, all our flatmates have no intention to live here anymore. The pest control guy told us 'try to live normally' and if still got bug bites, call him. That means we have to be landlord's guinea pig and helping him found out where the bugs hide by sleeping in his unfit-to-live house. My flatmate was seriously bitten and had to took 7 days antibiltics pills. Though number of bugs are decreasing, but we still want to move. Can anyone from uk provide us legal advise coz the landlord doesn't agree us to move. tks.

I added a screened room to my mobile home. I also have vinyl windows. in the summer the sun beats down on the home almost all day Someone told me I could have insulation installed in the roof panels, and that i may even be able to do it myself. Right now it's impossible to enjoy my patio between 1-5pm because it so hot you can't breath. I'm in the Pasco, FL area - 34667

I have a ring of a lime stain (I'm guessing its lime) around my toliet bowl. I've tried numerous commerical products, but to no avail. Does anyone have a sure-fire way to remove these stains? I've even soaked it overnight in staright bleach, but it's still there! Short of buying a new toliet bowl I need HELP!!
