1st time growing cherry toms. 3 plants in a grow bag with a cane each, lots of flowers then they just fell off. I watered and fed them and kept them in a mini plastic grenhouse, where did I go wrong. (they are the tall type not bush type)

My friend is 30 at the end of the month and for my 30th she plastered banners all over the town.

Does anyone have any ideas on something I can do to get her back on her 30th birthday?

All whacky answers welcome

I am originally from Massachusetts and now I live in Germany. This May, when it got warm, I came home one night to find the largest spider I had ever seen in person on my wall. I am terrified of spiders and have had to deal with them all summer almost daily. It is to the point where I leave the porch light on in hopes it deters them a little, because they don't seem to like the light and I end up checking my house every night before I can go to bed. I have set foggers off in the basement and have a can of Raid household and Garden on hand.

Is there anything else I might try to keep them as few as possible?

I do not want to compost them as we have a compst bin and the cuttings would swap it.

I do not really want to leave on the grass lawn as the kids drag it into house! But open to persuasion!

Wonder if it is good to put on flower beds? Or does it just lead to grass weeds?

I'm thinking of collecting clippings up to end of October/season and then putting clipppings under a weed screen sheet, in a flower bed (will this improve the soil? does the grass heat up as it lies there? does this help plants over eary winter? Just a theory!)

And finally, putting the rest into a nearby flower bed that has poor soil. Does this improve the soil?

Suggestions welcomed!

I have been ill all summer and my yard shows it. My flower beds are so bad that I have had three companies over for estimates to fix my flower beds and none of them "have time" to fix three 6 x 4 flower beds before fall. Two of the beds were in bad shape to begin with since I'm not much of a green thumb. I'd like to try though. I have every weed imaginable and they're all about 4 feet tall.

Where do I start to prepare my beds for fall so I can start a new in the spring? Does it help to know I live in Michigan?

Our neighborhood is across from a open field and they are putting a new building there. When they disturb the ground, the rats run over here. They also like the berries on a tree. I have a dog, and don't know the best way to get the rat. Help me...... Ok, you can be funny too, if you want......
