The Velcro on the flap of my hiking pants is thick will lint and bits of string. Is there any way to "rehabilitate" Velcro by removing the stuff caught in its "hook" side? I am hoping for something that will save me the hassle and expense of getting a tailor to sew on new bits of Velcro.

i just moved to the suburbs from the city, and it seems i can't do anything to the house that the neighbors won't copy off of me, i redid the garden just so it would look different, and now this summer i see that both of my neighbors went out and bought the same ones this summer., and i planted two crabapples in front of my house last summer and my one neighbor did the same exact thing last week.

i know i got bigger things to worry about, i just want my houst to look different than the others.

We went with a design/build builder. He finally finished designing our house. He has taken forever to get prices on the different areas to build our house. It seems like he has put us on tha back burner. I have told him this and he assures us that he is working diligently on our project. His prices also seem sort of high on some things. What is going on? We do have the permits and loan already done.

What would you say for something that is very very white?
To make it easier: Imagine a white wall, how many different hues of white can you use to describe it?
Thank you!

The leaves on the tips of the branches started to curl up. When you open them up, they are full of little white bugs (that resemble maggots- yuk) with black bugs in some. I bought Seven spray, but it doesn't seem to be killing them. More & more leaves are curling up. Help!

I would pay for the parts and possibly some labor depending on the total price. I am located in Gresham and would greatly appriciate any help.

I'm broke so I can't afford to pay professionals. I know to keep it upright and to strap it and pad it in the truck. But I've heard it's best to roll pianos. Unfortunately, I've got two small flights of stairs to go down and up on each end - what's the best way to handle this safely?

I have many bald spots and just had a new water line installed from meter to house. Do I need to do anything before laying the sod to make sure it takes?

ok the temp outside is 99 with heat index of 105. We rent a home with broken central air. The landlord insists on using cheap companies. The last company came out 3 times and never fixed it, the second company diagnosed the problem and now will not answer the phone or return calls. The landlord is content to do nothing for now and there is nothing in the lease about air conditioning. Here is my dilema, we would buy an air conditioner but we know that the electrical is not grounded except for the stove and dryer and furnace. Is there anything that can be done to get cool air without catching the house on fire. I only want to know about real air conditioning options, not ice or regular fans.

I'm looking to create a border around a large mulch bed I have in my yard. It extends from the street, along my driveway, past my garage and into the backyard...very big bed with beautiful plantings.
Thought boulders would look natural and unique. Where do I look? I'll probably need between 50 and 75 of them I'd say off the top of my head.

I am considering putting my house on the market. I know that I have to do some major cleaning to do, but I can't seem to get motivated to do it. It all seems so overwhelming. Does any one have any tips?

They are created by plant breeders to bloom beautifully in the spring, but I understand they don't produce fruit. So the flowers just shrivel up and that's it? Not even little, tiny fruit? That seems weird to me. If anyone has these trees, what have you seen?

Went to mow my lawn today and my plastic gas cap on the mower is all hacked-up! went to change it with my other mower and same thing, and on my chain saws and snowblowers!
Upon closer examination it looks like pencil wide tooth marks.
