Dig the trench from closest part of the buried line to your chosen location. You can dig along the buried line to get enough slack to cut it and insert a tee, but is easier ( and costs a little more) to get any of the different joints and unions that will let you do it without having to do all that extra digging for the slack. Plumb in the extra pipe and your sprinkler head, set your elevation with some gravel under the head and backfill everything.
