I am considering putting my house on the market. I know that I have to do some major cleaning to do, but I can't seem to get motivated to do it. It all seems so overwhelming. Does any one have any tips?

Put on your favorite tunes and pick a starting point and start. Dont think to much about it. Better to pick the most difficult task first then the rest will seem easy.

OK, what I do when I get ready for a big cleaning project is I have some of my closest friends over to help me with cleaning or painting and what not. Get a radio and put in a CD or just a station you like. While you and your friends are working you may actually have fun because well they are your friends and you would gossip and stuff. After you get the cleaning done, go out and have diner or something. So, you will have fun when you are cleaning!!!! I am only 12 years old but I think it is good advice!!!

Step away from the computer!!! j/k I dont know, Im the same way myself and I just have to do it. I pick a room and demolish it from top to bottom, throwing out the junk, getting rid of the clothes that no one has worn in 6 months. All non-essentials have to go. I wipe down walls, clean the carpets really well. You want to eliminate all clutter and make closets, walls, rooms and counters appear as spacious, as and as bright as possible. Entry ways should be inviting and bright, as well as clutter free. Its a lot of work, but has the potential for a really good pay back!! Getting started is the hard part. Good luck!

Set small goals - one room at a time is a good way to start - and give yourself rewards. When you finish a room, take yourself out to eat, go to that movie you've been wanting to see, or treat yourself to the necklace you've been eyeing at your local boutique.

The trick is to keep the rewards proportionate - small thing achieved, small reward. If you manage half the house in an afternoon then you get a big reward.

Pay someone if you can. I would do the guest room then your room. Get some containers and separate items and then after you separate them start going through each container. Then clean your room.

Honestly. Drugs. Try something like Addoral. It's a pill.

Music. And lots of it. Have someone burn you a CD (unless you wanna do it yourself) with dance, pop and some R&B music to chill out.
