She has never had one done before. She is deafly afraid of needles and things that a pap smear is going to hurt. She is still a virgin, but her parents are making her take one because of her sister being pregnant and suspect that me and her have been having sex like her sister. I know her parents are just wanting the best for her and all. But my gf is very afraid of it. She can't stand needels and thinks it's going to hurt. Is there anything I can do or say that will ease her worry. Please help, I don't want her to worry or anything because then when she does have it done, she is going to be very tense and it can make it hurt if she is too tense for them to work. Please, if there is anything that you know that I can do to help ease her worries, please tell me.

I have looked into a pap smear, they say it's painless, but what if they are a virgin still and their vaginal opening doesn't open far, will it still hurt?

More of physical and mental effects, not so much as health effects. My younger sister is 14 and is sadly trying to smoke cigarettes. She knows the health issues but thinks she'll be okay so I want to warn her about all the other risks. Can someone tell me some of these physical/mental risks or just give me a place where i can find them?

i am very curious. do birth control pills really make you gain weight. i am 20 and have been getting irregular periods ever since i was 13. i get my periods maybe every 5 months. that's if im lucky. i am not sexually active. just wanna be some-what normal. i just need "the pill" so i can get my periods normally. or are there any other ways to regulate my period without taking "the pill"? if so let me know.

I have been having dull cramps on and off through out the day for about a week now along with an unusual discharge but it isn't close to my period (and there isnt a chance im pregnant). I'm not sure what the problem could be or if there even is a problem, do you have any ideas?

4 months ago, I took a hit from my brother in a roller hockey game. So I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get MRI's on my knee. The PCL in my left need is only partially torn.

I can walk and run normally, but I know that something still doesn't feel right. I was just wondering if it will heal on its own, or if I must get surgery? I understand that the ligament isn't vascular, and won't fully heal, but is there even a chance that my leg muscles can compensate for this injury in any way?

Basically no more hockey or gymnastics for me.

Many women have suffered and died without recognition or sympathy, in many cases because they are not known to us personally, those closest to them have also suffered I'm certain. I know this because my younger brother who lived in Australia died of lung cancer and, though I didn't know him for very long, I miss him terribly! Please wish Kyley Minogue and all women suffering, a 'speedy recovery
