Could you please tell me what would be the mechanism of death in a mother with obstructed labor (dystocia) and how we can relate the death to obstructed labor? The typical case is a women dies during labor or within the six weeks following labor and we aim to relate this death to obstructed labor. How can we set a simple and reasonable criteria for this?
My best guess:
Septic shock coming out of infection as a result of prolonged labor OR hemorragic shock resulting from ruptured uterus would be the mechanism of death and we can just rely on the patient's record indicating a prolonged labor.

Any suggestion? a more intuitive and evidence-based approach? a more objective criteira?
Thanks for your time reading this and writing a comment

I mean partial birth abortions. I think they should definately be illegal. If you are pregnant, why wait until you have a 1/2 grown baby growning inside you to kill it?? I don't agree with abortion totally, but why let the baby grow inside of you and you feel the kicks and movements and then have it aborted? Why not do it when it's a cluster of cells??? I think abortions should be legal until 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, abortions should be illegal. What do you think?

I have never used a tampon before and I do gymnastics and other sports and pads are way to uncomfortable for me. My mom has no clue about tampons, she has never worn tampons in her life and same with my sister, she said I could use tampons but my mom and sister decided they would stick with pads. No pun intended. I will be in the eigth grade and I have had my period for a while now. The instructions weren't very helpful. I want personal experience please...?

At first I put it on my back and i would break out. Then i put it on my arms and they started to look bloated. now for the past year i have been wearing it on my upper hip/thigh and now I have some bloatness there. I stopped wearing it about a week ago. Has this happened to anyone else? I hope it goes away I have always had a small waist and hit the gym 3 times a week. I also had other side effcts like headache, blood clots not during my period and vision problems and confusion. Another question...which may sound dumb...but since I have stopped the patch my hormones have flown thru the roof...do you think its from stopping the birth control?

I am on birth control and have been for about 2 1/2 years. I never miss a pill, and I set the alarm on my phone so that I remember to take it at the same time every day. I was supposed to get my period last Sunday (almost 2 weeks ago), which never came. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests, and they both came up negative. I've never missed a period while on the pill, and I was wondering if anyone else has any idea what it could be? Thanks!

I am 28 and have been on birth control since I was 17. First on Depo-Provera, then Ortho-Tri and now Yasmin. Three years ago I stopped taking the pill and I waited almost 4 months and I never had a period. I went to the dr. and she told me not to worry and that I was in "mid-cycle" and to continue taking the pill if I didn't want to get pregnant. I have changed Dr's and told them the same story and they all don't seem worried. I just don't want to be 33 years old and realize that I can't have kids. Any ideas?

I'm on birth control, but skipped 2 days then caught up with them. However, everywhere I look said to use extra protection for 7 days afterwards. However, I didn't use the extra protection and had intercourse a few days later. Is it possible to get pregnant?

I started my period on the 3rd of July. I never take the spacer pills, so I started taking my pill Sunday the 9th as scheduled. I missed Wednesday's pill (12th), but took it Thursday morning then took Thursday's Thursday night. My boyfriend and I had sex last night (Thurs. the 13th). He did not ejaculate inside me (yes I know even a tiny drop can get you pregnant)...and I guess that is why I am concerned. I have read all over that although it can happen, it is not likely that pregnancy will occur if you only miss one day. However, I have also read if you miss your pill towards the begining you are more likely to. So, my questions are... 1) am I very likely to get pregnant from missing the pill one day this week? 2) I would also like to know if there is any correlation between when you miss the pill and if you may become pregnant? (I mean, is there any relationship between the day you have sex and the day you miss a pill in likelyhood to get pregnant?)

Ok here is the deal. I had reoccurring yeast infections a few months ago. I did treatments over the counter. Then I went to my doctor and took a pill. That didn’t work so I had to go back and get a cream. Then my gyno did a culture of the cells in my vagina. It turned out that I had Bacterial Vaginitis. I took a treatment for BV and then got more yeast infections from the treatment I took for the BV (according to my Dr.). I then took another treatment to clear up the yeast infection from the BV treatment. I felt fine for a few days and now I have another yeast infection. Does any one have any ideas on what the problem might be? I take proper precautions by not using scented soap, wearing white cotton underwear, I am not sexually promiscuous. Please help any ideas would be appreciated.

I went to the bathroom this morning ( I am about 8 weeks pregnant) and a piece of fluffy looking tissue about the size of a lima bean (maybe a little bit smaller) that was in a compact ball came through. I was worndering does tissue passage always = miscarriage or is that just something I didn't need anymore? Was that the fetus that passed or part of something else?

Who am I to argue the toss. I haven't heard of people getting more than two, but i'm a caucasian husband married to an asian wife and have paid, literally, great respect to what the doctor has told me?

I wonder what the implications of having a third C-section would be? I don't think the scar tissue would ever heal? Actually i'v no idea why, as this information was put my way by, as I say, an Asian doctor and a UK doctor might say otherwise?

Not an outwardly problematic dilema, but one that might be solved with other's input? C-Sections, how many please before my missus explodes, tongue and cheek?
