ps, i started to day and have had no cramps in the past two days

Yes,it can.
The warmer the weather is,the more relaxed your blood vessels are-they remain in a state of vasodilatation -and blood flow is therefore freer and cramp-less.
In cold weather however,your blood vessels are constricted .This makes blood flow more sluggish and your womb contracts more,when tying to get the blood out,so you have a lot more cramps.

Temperature can impact all bodily functioning. Any net impact on your period would be a secondary matter (ie temp impacting your hydration and hydratio impacting menstruation).
