Anybody on microgynon 30? If so have you had any problems with it (e.g moody, weight gain, no sex drive?)?

all contraceptive pills give you weight gain and all make you more susseptable to blood clots. Also, contraceptive works differently on each individual so if you have mood swings and no sex drive then I suggest going on Cilest.

but i can recommend you going to gynecologist and ask him to do you all test and than you will be able to pick up right one.
my friend told me that private one are better than National Health Services one, but its worth to pay for this as this is your body.

Yes, I used to be on this but now I have progesterone injections (depo provera) which is much better.

Microgynon 30 didn't suit me because I got really bad spots and extreme mood swings before my periods. My periods were always very heavy (blood clots, sore tummy, headache). Sometimes I forgot my pill and ended up having to use condoms with my fiance but neither of us are very keen on them. Can't complain too much I suppose, stopped me getting pregnant!

Depo provera suits me much better. Now I never have periods. I haven't had one for over a year and it's great! Also I don't have to remember to take a pill every day. Oh and it stops me getting preganant but it's actually meant to be slighlty more effective than the pill.

I have used these Pills before. You will find that all Contraceptive pills will affect you in some way or another. They are a synthetic hormone which changes your moods. And sex drive is changeble due to our hormones. THere are loads on the market, keep trying different ones until you find the one that affects you the least. Anna

I was on those pills for about 5 years, came off them and found my sex drive was higher, I was less moody and felt a hell of a lot better not on them. I actually got pregnant whilst on them too.

been on it nearly 10 years and had no problems, put a bit of weight on at the beginning but then I went away to uni at the same time so that could have caused. My doctor is thinking of taking me off it and I'm gutted!

its known to cause weight gain, mood swings and loss of sex drive.
ask your doctor for a different pill - I was on Yasmin for a few years and its wonderful. No weight gain at all (its a different type of progesterone). they dont like to give it out as its expensive, so really push for it. I told my doctor my sisters both used it, it was the only one they could use as others caused excessive weight gain as they were intolerant to the progesterone.

When I was on it I put on a bit of weight, but as it says above that could have been because of uni. I'm now on Loestrin which is no different as far as I can gather.

i am differant i am lost weight and my sex drive have gone up alot i mean i need it at least 4 times a day now
