Just wondering why patients are offered ice cream after surgery? Saw it on films (US films) quite a lot and am wondering if that actually happens in real life. Definitely does not happen at hospitals in my country.....

I was supposed to stay over night at the hospital but even though i wasnt feeling all that great i was well enough to eat jello ice cream and walk around than i put on my game face and when the doc's came to see me i looked like the surgery was never done. so i got out

It's common knowledge that dishwashing soap, paste, etc. is poisonous when ingested. But what about when these products come into contact with wounds, with or without washing them off afterwards?

For the past 2 years i have suffered sore throats, some really bad ones and some mild ones. Most of the times the doctor gives me antibiotics to clear it up. It is getting to the stage that i am REALLY fed up with feeling ill when i get these bad throats. I get them probably 4-5 times a year. I recently had one which has only just cleared up, which included an ulcer on my throat. Other times they are 'lumpy' red and sore throats. Sometimes, like now, i just have a dry sore throat. The doctor took a swab and said because there was no sign of infection, that it was pointless seeing a specialist. Why do i keep getting bad throats and is there anything i can do to prevent them coming? I really am fed up of feeling ill with them. Thanks a lot.

I took a capsule form of zoloft, I didn't eat it with food and got MAJOR heartburn is it because I didn't eat it with food what can I use to prevet this and how do I get rid of heartbuirn it hurt sooo much!

Long story short: I was on an extremely high dose of 3 different steroids about 20 days ago. Since then I've had hormonal problems to say the least, one of which is mild acne. I had a bump on the side of my nose, which I thought was a pimple, so I squeezed it. A small amount of pus did come out, but the next morning (and each sucessive morning thereafter) it has been worse, more swollen, and extremely sore. It feels hard (a lump the size of a pea), and then "squishy" for about a 1 inch diameter around it. It's red and extremely sore. Also, that side of my nose is stuffy and I have an awful headache, as well as a low fever and a sore throat. That being said, I get CHRONIC sinus infections and I don't know if all these symtoms are just coinciding with a weird pimply-thing. Could a severe sinus infection cause this type of infection in your skin too? Or does it sound like staph? I'm going to the doctors later today but it's really painful and I'd appreciate any help! THANKS!

i've been using the computer for 7 years and im trying to quit(have been using the computer for like 10 minutes a day on average for the past 2 weeks, since my computer is down and i can only access it in the library)

2 questions...

1) the tissue parts below my eye(i think its the eye ring area), is not puffy like wat most people suffer from, but instead its sunken in, and my eyeballs i feel, have shrunk a bit in size. what can i do to regrow that area? and possibly my eyeballs can grow back to the original size? massage that area, certain foods/fruits or ?

2) that same area is also very black, probably due to the fact that i have sinus problems, such that if i stay up for a night by just playing cards, that area immediately DARKENS alot. i've tried resting for the past 1 week or so but the dark reduces very slowly, yet it comes out easily if i just sleep a little later. any cure?

right after i get out of the shower or if i've slept for a long time my veins are really blue and bulging all over my arms and i can even trace one from my hand all the way up to my shoulder. how come later i can barely see them and they sort of fade back into my arm?

For me? Yeah, I have ben unconsious once, it was when I was still a 5th grade student, and it was recess, I was playing on the monkey bars and sat on it. When I think I could roll backward to land on my feet from the monkey bars, I try and landed on my head instead and every thing turns whites instead being black out (wonder why). 10 minutes later, I woke up by myself and walk to the restrooms where I thought "where the hell am I" so i put water on my forehead and suddenley I realized I have been unconscious and move on, It was the day I marked to be remember by me.

i have to go to school and i have a dance to go to on friday and i need to get better and i really have no time to rest and im taking lots of vitamin c and a lot of medicince but its seen to be not working (i still habve a stuffy nose and a lot of Mucus) I hate the mucus how do i fix that (no time to buy mucinex or medicine or something!!!!)
