right after i get out of the shower or if i've slept for a long time my veins are really blue and bulging all over my arms and i can even trace one from my hand all the way up to my shoulder. how come later i can barely see them and they sort of fade back into my arm?

Your veins will become more prominent when there is more blood flowing through them for various reasons. In your case you've jut gotten out of the shower so your blood pressure is probably a little elevated due to the heat in the shower. Once it normalizes the veins fade somewhat. This will also occur during strenuous exercise. Take as a compliment. I work in a hospital and I can tell you that people with prominent veins are the ones who are in the best physical shape. :)
