I'm a drug addict..well no I'm not a drug addict..i am addicted to painkillers..so to classify the question the way you did makes it seem like u think all drug addicts no matter what type have HIV...definitely untrue..although sharing needles proves to be high risk activity for contracting HIV along with many other stds and complications...good question but do a little research next time so u dont stereo type..drugs do not cause HIV or stds..drugs cause promiscuous behavior which therefore leads to unprotected sex and sharing of needles..some drugs prove higher risk for this behavior..like i mentioned i am addicted to pain pills, i live a very normal life and paint a lively bright picture on the outside. i am successful in the work field and I'm married with a 1yr old daughter...although on the inside i suffer every day of my life with this 50 doller per day to feed my addiction..i could and should be spending this money else where perhaps on my daughter rather then myself..sadly enough i live in Maine where help for my addiction is near I'mpossible..exp. seeming im almost always over looked due to being considered a " high functioning addict"..so in a nut shell no i dont have HIV or any STDS Ive been with only 2 men in my life.

hiv is a transmitted sexually and through blood-blood contact and can take up to 6 months for antibioties to develop in the body from the date of the previous test. if drug addict is sharing needles, the risk of contracting hiv is greatly increased. also certain drugs cause people to become extremely reckless and they may participate in unsafe sex. so to answer your question it is possible that a drug addict does not have hiv but there are several factors that contribute to contracting the disease as well.

Sure. a good representation of drug users Are HIV free.and that correlates to the strength of the substance abuse in their communities. Proactive programs that offer effective intervention along with providing users with a clean needle distribution element is a service based on non judgmental basis Offer a way out to theses willing to take up the challenge. To change mores has to get down street wise and dirty.

Yes, it all depends on what they have done on the drugs. Not everyone who has AIDS or HIV has done drugs, they could have just been with one wrong person. And not all drug addicts sleep with others when they are on drugs. And not all drugs need to be taken with a needle. Unsafe sex and sharing needles are the two easiest ways to get AIDS or HIV.

Yes that is possible. There are many types of drugs that someone can become addicted to and not all of them are used with a needle.

Of course it's possible.
You don't get HIV from the drugs itself.
If he was careful of the needles he uses (no sharing etc) why would he be HIV positive.

Sure it's possible. They have to be infected with it by using a needle that someone with HIV used.
