Has anyone ever experienced this - to this extent? I have always loved sweets and continue to have chocolate, etc., but not an absolutely enormous amount. I do some form of aerobic exercise at for 30-45 minutes at least three times per week (I started 3 days after I began taking Remeron because I did not want to gain weight- I'm already overweight). My question is this: I am eating the same and have added exercise, but I continue to gain 3 to 5 pounds PER WEEK. Isn't this completely counter-intuitive? Does this drug just shut down your metabolism or what? I am up 15 pounds in 4 weeks but the drug is working. I just can't wear any of my clothes - frustrating, especially since I have a history of eating disorders (which my MD is aware of). Ideas? Help?

I was recently prescribed Topamax for epilepsy. I love the weight lose. I'm 20 pounds overweight. I hate the generalized state of confusion. I struggle to concentrate. I hold a position of great responsibility. My employer is aware of my newly aquired memory problems. They have been very forgiving. I have been less forgiving of myself. What has always made me among the best in my field has been my ability to project the needs of my firm. I'm not keeping up. What am I going to do?

The top outside of my left foot hurts, more so when I run but also have a sharp pain when standing and then it goes away. It's not constant more off and on. Except on when running which I’ve temporally stopped doing. The pain is right by my ankle and only in my left foot.

My record was 5 days back in high school...I didn't like to shower back then for some reason. I valued my sleep more than my hygiene.

It seems like just about everyone has a method for curing hiccups that has been "passed down for generations". What's yours?

Mine is to light a match and put it out in a cup of water - then drink the match-and-water combination. It works instantly everytime!

I have been wearing glasses for a few years now as I am short sighted. I was told by the opticians when i intially started wearing them and when I went for subsequent tests that although my eye sight was becominging slightly worse it would come to a stand still once I reached the age of 20 - 22.

My eyesight hasn't stopped getting worse and i'm now 24.

Is this normal?

i just realised that it is now dinner time where i live and except for some wheat (don't ask- traditional food) i had this morning all i've eaten is really low fat tomato based veggie soup, o and half an apple... it's not to lose weight or anything but it's what i've got at home and it's too cold to eat anything else...

i've been feeling a bit hungry today but just thought it was because i was revising (really hard, cough cough)...

just a thought...what do you think?

I'm having my surgery this week and wondered if anyone had anything to tell me about what to expect. Any ideas for diet, other than ice-cream?
My doctor told me that since i'm 30, I should expect this to be kind of rough. Is it really that bad?? Any thoughts/suggestions would really be helpfull.
Thanks!! ; )

I've noticed that if I go for a long period of time without eating, I have trouble breathing once I do eat. Sometimes when I get full, which doesn't take much, my nose feels like its stopped up. What is causing me to feel like this?

My husband has an eating disorder. He over eats. He doesn't make himself barf or anything like that. He complains that he is 315+ pounds but sits in front of the computer all day and eats and games. I have talked to him about this and other matters. I know he's depressed. I know he has issues. I have tried to talk to him, I have to hide some goodies from him, although I mostly buy healthy foods, i do on occassion buy goodies.

How can I deal with this? It's not like he's an alcoholic and he can stop and keep living. We all need food to live... but he can't control himself.

He doesn't eat a lot in front of others and tells people he doesn't eat a lot, but when we all go to bed and he's gaming until 3am, he'll eat a whole package of cookies or twinkies or something, if he finds it all. Even a whole package of crackers if he can't find the sweets.

I don't know what to do for him anymore. It's not like he's a kid and I can control his portions etc, he's in his 30s!!!!
