Has anyone ever experienced this - to this extent? I have always loved sweets and continue to have chocolate, etc., but not an absolutely enormous amount. I do some form of aerobic exercise at for 30-45 minutes at least three times per week (I started 3 days after I began taking Remeron because I did not want to gain weight- I'm already overweight). My question is this: I am eating the same and have added exercise, but I continue to gain 3 to 5 pounds PER WEEK. Isn't this completely counter-intuitive? Does this drug just shut down your metabolism or what? I am up 15 pounds in 4 weeks but the drug is working. I just can't wear any of my clothes - frustrating, especially since I have a history of eating disorders (which my MD is aware of). Ideas? Help?

First try cutting down on the amount of food you eat, and cut out the sweets. If you still gain then I think you need to go have another chat with your doctor...;

I recently wrote an article that talks about various reasons for weight gain that are related to perhaps over the counter and prescription drugs or other medical conditions.

If you're interested, the link to the article is below.

You might wan to give it a read and see if you are taking any of the meds I listed in the article - they might be a culprit. It also talks a bit about eating disorders too. Let me know what you think if you do happen to read the article.

I hope you find a solution that works for you.
