...both retired Royal Navy, blethering away like it was going out of fashion. Among the topics of conversation were the many health benefits of saunas and steam rooms. So I hear all this grapevine type health wisdom about "sweating out the toxins" etc etc and I wonder...

Exactly what IS going on, biologically speaking, when you take a sauna? What are the biochemical processes inside your body, and what good, or bad, is it doing you?

PS for the record, the sauna was attached to a municipal swimming pool. Behave now.

I hate smokers, never smoked in my life but a few days ago a friend of mine was hungry so we went to a restaraunt but they only had the bar open, they allow smoking in there. Anyhow being around smoke bothers me, it gives me a headache. Anyhow the next day I awoke with a really sore throat, not like a normal sore throat. I am also really flemmy. DOes this happen if you go to smoking places?

went down tremendously. Everytime I blink my eye it hurts terribly, and is only affecting my left eye. It has been watering like crazy. I want to go to the doctor but my gold card(sort of like medicade)has expired. Is there anything i can do to prevent the pain. I have a blind date tomorrow I can't possibly go with my eye looking like this. Are there any cheap over the counter medicine I can take. I have antibiotics and handle bars(nerve relaxers) will they help my condition are make it worse.

I've been told I'm a match for a poorly person who need a bone marrow donation. I'm definitely going to do it, and I've read up as much as I can about what they do, but I was wondering if anyone had any first-hand experiences they could share so I know what to expect.

then leaves and hour after she wakes to go to the wellness center then comes home showers and returns to bed. Later at night she leaves me home and I have to put my baby brother to bed and care for him when we has night terrors or just refuses to go to bed. I've done this everyday with and eception of maybe 3 weeks for two years. Do you think this is a good amount of baby sitting to go along with regular chores? Or do you think my mom is insane and needs to get her lazy butt moving because during the day I keep track of 4 children all under the age of 13. And Im only 14. And should I get paid even a little bit instead of none?

I just thought of this....wondered if there was some policy in the Hippocratic Oath they take? I could see that there would be some possibility of abuse of this, espeicially for controlled drugs or highly addictive drugs (i.e. oxy-contin or valium).

I got SO sick last Thursday (vomiting, etc). I thought it might have been food poisoning... but there is really no way to be sure.

I was sick all day Friday, felt a little better Saturday (but couldn't eat), and am gradually starting to feel better, but cannot seem to kick the stomach pains.

I have tried to not eat things that would irritate it (ex: greasy foods), and have taken tums, but it seems like my stomach churns with everything I eat, leaving me with no appetite.

Any suggestions to stop the stomach pains?
