I doubt it. It isnt like they dont know they are overweight, and it usueally only bothers others. So my guess is they are as happy as a pig in mud!

I started the year tipping the scales at 373 pounds. I am now 335 pounds.
My primary motivation for weight loss is health. Late last year I found out that I have Gout. As I type this I am in the throws of my latest flare up which prohibits me from typing properly or making a fist with my right hand. I did not even know what gout was!
Obviously I am at risk for heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and a host of other debilitating disorders.
I am not sure if I am a typical obese person, but I am relatively happy. I own my own business, I have a circle of good friends AND I am ACTIVELY trying to change my body. I do not want to be fat, but sometimes I lack the motivation for change.
I would imagine that in some cases, really fat people just do not have a support group (no pun intended) and that makes them fall further into a depression of sorts. ALL of my friends are very fit or slightly overweight. I am also an aspiring actor and most of the people in those circles are a pleasure to watch.
If fat people are generally unhappy, I cannot attest to. But I am happy.

In my opinion overweight people are as happy as skinny people, some skinny people want to loose weight cause they see thereselves as fat. I am overweight and am a loving ,caring person and am loved and cared for by all the others around me so why shouldn't I be happy. I think that all people no mater there size are unhappy at sometime in life. I sometimes wish I could loose weight but think would I still be as happy as I am now. So I decide don't worry and be happy is the way of life.
overweight and happy thats me

I am over weight and I`m not unhappy in general. But I am unhappy with my weight. I would like to lose some just to be healthier but I would still like to be a little plump (I think women should have CURVES). But I do have a friend who is like 300 pounds and she is one of the happiest people I know. So I guess it would entirely depend on the who you ask, as that is only one aspect of a person total happiness. I mean not every skinny person I know is happy. Hope this helped :o)

All sizes of people could/can be unhappy--
But I am unhappy with being fat.
Being fat sucks for me.
Even though well-meaning friends say they can't believe what the scale tells me (OH COME ON!!)--
It still makes me unhappy to be overweight and it's not easy to lose. I'm one of those people that thinks fat people should stop crying and get off their a** and do something...so I need to follow my own advice. The problem is fat people (including me) need help doing this.

my school required us to take a psychology class a couple of years back...they said most researches proved that over weight people are actually gregarious by nature...i think the media is to blame for the low self esteem that "over weight" people have for themselves these days...the reality tv show THE BIGGEST LOSER tops the best DEmotivator of all time...i'm a size 4 but when my friends see me the words FAT or FATTER come out of their mouths!!! that make me wanna lose weight (aside from wanting to bloody their noses!) even though i'm only 98lbs. which makes me 26lbs under weight!

I am happy. I have been very overweight most of my life but my self esteem is not derived by the "package" that I come in-besides 65% of the US population is overweight-we outrank everybody else now - hahahah.

Probably not all of them. That's almost like stereotyping them as an unhappy people. You may think that because you yourself would be unhappy to be fat or are unhappy because your fat. Not everyone has the same point of view on their size.

Yes, of course. Everything is more difficult when you are overweight....clothes shopping, climbing hills or stairs, slipping between tight spaces in restaurants, office aisles, too tiny lavatory spaces, uncomfortable seats in airplanes........and the list goes on.

They say Santa is jolly. So, I guess not all of them are unhappy.
I would say overweight people are overweight, but that doesn't mean they have to be unhappy.
