I've been told I'm a match for a poorly person who need a bone marrow donation. I'm definitely going to do it, and I've read up as much as I can about what they do, but I was wondering if anyone had any first-hand experiences they could share so I know what to expect.

no as yet i havent though have twice been called up to give a further blood sample for testing unfortunatly i never made it to the next stage as i wasnt the best match

my husband has also been called up twice to give a second sample
on one of these occasions he had tro give a further sample

unfortunatly this did not go any further as the recipient became too ill for the operation to go ahead

good luck it is a well worthwhile thing to do

I am on the donor list too, but have never been called.

My Dad was, and said there was some discomfort but not a lot.

Good for you, you will be saving someone's life!!!
