General Health Care - August 2007

Degenerative changes are seen involving the spine. What does that mean? I tried to contact them and I feel like they are giving me the run around and they keep telling me "Im young and healthy and I shouldnot have to worry about this". Wow Im only 25, any age has to worry about something. Please explain to me what should I do.

This year in 8th grade I am doing cross country. I didn't do it last year though. We started practice on the 7th and it is the 9th so we have had 3 days of practice. We practice from 8-9:30 every morning except on the weekends. Over the 3 days that we have had practice we have done a lot of running. Our coach told us to go at our own pace which I do. Now my legs hurt anytime I move them. My right knee is also hurting. Is this normal and what can I do to minimize the pain?

I havent been to the toilet properly for about a week .Sunday i was in agony severe pains in my stomach,sweating and felt sick.Had two laxatives and two pain killers which helped with the pain.I still havent been toilet and ive now had eleven laxatives over five days from sunday to today thursday.Yesterday afternoon i was in agony again it just comes from now where one minute im fine then the next im crawling on the floor in agony.It is the worse pain even even beats labour pains.Ive been to the doctors in the past but they are no help.Does anyone know what i can do.My stomach is so sore just to touch today and im dreading them pains coming back.

my boyfriend gets terrible leg cramps in the middle of the night, they wake him up from a dead sleep. what causes this and is there anything he can take to help stop them from coming on? it seems like i remember someone telling me it was due to a vitamin deficiency, but, i don't remember which vitamin it was! can anybody help me on this?

ok im 12 and ever since i was 4 on random days i would get these pains in my right knee. some i know are growing pains others i know wernt. so any way yesterday i went to a water park and on the way back my knee started hurting on the right side as usual. it only hurt if i bent it, and when i went to straighten it back out it would pop. now one day later it still hurts a little to bend but is much better. i do swim, bike and run.

Could i have Osgood-Schlatter desease?

i have a physical and shots schelduded for the 15 so could my doc look at my knee then. or will i have to make a separet appointment?

what if my knee stops hurting inbetween now and then? should i still go? because this has been a problem for a while on and off.

last night at a soccer game a girl backed up in front of me and the back of herhead hit my braces/mouth REALLY hard so it started to bleed... A LOT. SO today it is still swollen, the middle part of my upper lip is like dark red and big. It hurts to pronounce certain words.

I am an RN and I have a new job. I have to stand up for most of my 12 hour shifts. At the end of the day my feet hurt. I have good shoes. I bought some insoles to try. I also bought some Alleve to take during the day. I have a footbath at home. Any other suggestions?

I went to a BBQ last weekend and got attacked by mosquitos.

I have never been biten like this in my life before! I've never had this type of reaction. The bites are red and raised, they look like welts. I must have at least 30 of them.

Right now I am using max. strength cortizone cream. But I still find myself scratching. I've also tried using ice on the bites. It relieves the itch for a little while.

Do you have any recommendations or home remedies to try?
I want these things to go away. I scar easily and I'm hoping I'm not permanently marked all over.

l have a tiny lump in the front of my neck. lts been there for the past 4 years, as at last year, its started increasing and still painless. l went to my doctor, he checked it and said its nothing to worry about. l so went to a laboratory centre to see if l can get a test done, the lab tech checked it and told me to remove my mind from there, thats its an innocent growth.
My problem now is that, since past 3days now, it has started to pain me and giving me slight headache and discomfort on my throat. pls what do you think???

When I lay down at night, I get these weird pressure like pains in my calves. During the day, I get teh same pains in my neck and arms. Ive tried searching online, but dont really know how to discribe it. It kinda like a rubberband has been tied around my legs or like someone is poking me really hard. Been having it for about 4 yrs now. At first, it was light pain, now its become really bad, it hurts when i stand, sit, lie down or sleep on a different mattress. I suspect the primary cause for my pain is 4 yrs of carrying heavy books throughout highschool. I tried to avoid it, but in one of my schools, they never even had any lockers. So hear i am, only 18 yrs old, & my back is killing me. I've told my physicians about it, they've done X-rays, & found nothing. Well, it still hurts & it gets worse & worse. My doctors aren't even being helpful everytime i see them, cause they ignore it, they assume that just because my X-rays haven't shown anything, that there's no problem. & now i' m really stuck in a rut because, i was supposed to get an MRI done on my back, but my mom & i have a real bad relationship, & she's my sole financial provider, & she's refused to spend any money on my back problems. So i can't even see i doctor about it when i want to, or have any further diagnosti

I was just curious and wanted to learn something new. Also, I freely admit I'm weird like this.

So, if a guy does receive such an injury, how long would it take to heal? What medical/surgical procedures would have to be done to help him recover?

What are the results of such an appalling attack, both permanent and temporary? Would it depend on how he was stabbed?

Last Friday I got a partial fill of my prescription because I couldn't afford the full scrip at the time. I'm supposed to go camping this weekend and won't be able to pick the rest (or some) of it up this Friday as planned and will obviously run out. So my question is, will Walgreen's let me pick my scrip up early by about 2 days? And will they let me partially refill it? I really don't want to delay the trip, so any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you!
