on wednesday i was in the pool (i live in spain) and i think i twisted my ankle, but when i came out, it didnt hurt, it just felt weak. on thursday when i got up my foot really hurt and it was a little swollen but no bruising, so i iced it and the swelling went down and put my ankle support on, and limped around the house all day(my mom was at work). yesterday when i got up it really hurt, even more, so i could hardly walk, and when my mom got home she started shouting at me saying i was pretending to be hurt for attention cause my best friend has just moved and i wont see her anymore. my ankle really hurts and i think i might have a grade II sprain(looked on the internet)and it will have to be plastered or bandaged, but my mom wont take me to the hospital or doctors cause on tuesday i go on holiday to the UK, and she says i wont beable to fly if i'm on crutches...
please tell me what to do...my ankle really hurts, and if i leave it'll get worse

Would it cause any serious damage if i did a quick zap to like my arm or leg. I was thinking about doing it to the side of my rib. I just want to know what it feels like but dont want to try it if it causes serious damage.

Hi there. I had an operation a week ago on my shoulder. This was done to repair the torn cartlidge, repair the tears in the ligaments and tendons and to repair one of the muscles. I was told by the surgeon that my shoulder would be fully functional in 3 months and that in 6 months I could play rugby.

Rugby is crucial for me as I have a sports scholarship at my school, and 6 months would mean missing the whole season. I heard that sports men now take collagen tablets to decrease healing time after injuries but I'm not sure. So if I were to take collagen tablets would it help to decrease my healing time? I'm 16 if that makes a difference. Any help would be much appreciated.

A week ago I noticed a red hard bump. The next day the leg got swollen in the afternoon. The sides of my ankle get swollen and tender to touch. The area above my heel hurts. I have like a burning feeling. Some people say that something stung me; but others say that may be that is injury related. I just know that I woke up and found that bump. Thanks for your help in this guessing game. I am so scared. See pictures:

Yesterday my mom showed us a mark on her leg, the red line starts at her upper knee and ends on her upper thigh. and this morning she looked at it and it is all black and blue. and she can't remember bumping into anything.

What could it be?

Yesterday while running in the woods I rolled my ankle on a root... I landed on the outside of the ankle and it hurt for about a minute and then my coach/camp counselor who was with me told me it was best to keep running in order to keep the blood circulating. After hobbling for a few steps I regained a semi-normal stride and finished the 5 mile run at a fast pace. I iced somewhat and elevated but I had a six hour van ride later that day and mostly my ankle was kept still & not really taken care of. Today I have a day off from running but this morning I woke up with extremely limited range of motion in my ankle... I have to walk with my foot turned outward in order to be able to move at all: it is as if my achilles tendon is also affected even though only the outer ankle is swollen, it is as if my achilles will not bend fully in order to let me walk normally. What the heck is wrong with my ankle and when will it get better? Should I ice it or heat it??

My mom has terrible arthritis pain in both knees. Right now surgery is out of the question because it's too expensive. Does anyone know of any home remedies or vitamins that would help relieve the pain my mom is having?

My mother, who is about 54 years old has terrible back aches, not really BACK aches its mostly around the pelvis area/hips.
Is there any way to cure this?
And her right arm is hurting either.
She cant really put her arm up,so she has a hard time tying her hair, lifting heavy stuffs.
Is massaging her the right thing to do?

How do I get on partial disability? Is their an age reqirement I'm 30 yrs old and can stand on my feet very long without excruciating pain. I might have inherited my mothers "spurs" (a nick name for what makes the bones in your feet start peeling). Also my legs tend to get tight and start cramping. Please help. I don't want to go to the doctor if he's going to tell me I can't get on the partial disability.

A friend of mine was in a car accident. She had two broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The doctors did a series of tests. At the end one of them said, "You're doing great. We just have one more test." He inserted his finger in her rectum. I don't think that it was anything but standard procedure, but why? What was he checking for?

I've recently been prescribed Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, after taking it for 1.5 weeks, I experienced major swelling, especially in feet in legs; therefore, I've stopped taking the medication as prescribed.

Yesterday I was having sharp nerve pain in hip, with nothing else to take, I took one capsule before bedtime and the pain has subsided. Will this medication work on an "as needed" basis or does it need to build up in your system?

First off, let me say I'm a man and I'm not a woman.

I feel as though there is some pain on my left nipple. It's not very painful but I want to know what it is.

When I squeeze my nipple I feel as though as if there is a small rock, or a ball in side of it.

Thanks for anybody who's contributing.

~ Muscle stiffness and more frequent headaches noticed
~August 6 hard to breathe deep, headache, fever, nausea, tests show fluid around heart, possible pericarditis
