has anybody who at one point in their lives suffered from migraines ever recovered from them? is it possible to reach a symptom free time [providing [OR NOT MAYBE] you take preventative meds, [or alternative] and do psychotherapy or anything that helps]?
thanks

Migraines are different from headaches. Migraines are caused when the blood vessels to the head restrict and blood cannot get into the head. There are medications, many of them, that work to relax those vessels and allow proper blood flow. These medications do not cause any symptoms like drousyness, etc. All they do is unrestrict the blood vessels so that the blood gets into the head. You usually take one and then if that hasn't helped, you take another one in 2 hours. They are taken as soon as you know it is a migraine starting and not a normal headache. For example, when the headache starts, take a pain killer like IBU and if in an hour or two the IBU isn't working and the headache is increasing, take the migraine pill. Your doctor can perscribe them for you. Most insurances cover them. Since no one knows why these blood vessels restrict in the first place, there isn't any way to stop them from happening but you can now control them easily.

I have had migraines for the past year & I've had severe attacks. My recent attack lasted me a lil' over a month. Everyday I woke up with a headache ranging from mild to unbearable. I was told by my doctor to keep a migraine diary
& write down everything you eat or do.
(Ex. running,stress,eating habits,sexual activities etc...)
I didn't think this would be any help to me.
All I wanted was some MEDS!!!!! LOL
anyway I recorded everything that I did for about 2 months & noticed that I was having my attacks whenever I ate things that had to much salt or msg & when ever I drank energy drinks.
So I cut down on salty foods I try to avoid anything with msg & I cut out all things caffine.
(Aaaaahhh! one of the hardest things I've done)
Drinking lots of water helped & it got so much better plus I'm slowly changing the way I eat so hopefully this will help for me. So far I have had two minor episodes since then. I 'm currently not taking perscription meds anymore just over the counter stuff.
As for a cure? hopefully soon. It seems I found my pattern to help prevent it. I hope this can be of help to you. Good Luck!

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

Be careful of the foods you eat, look up the list on the Internet. Also avoid high heat, stress and positions of your neck and back that are painful. We use Imitrex and Esgic plus here in our home. All of us suffer, for different reasons. Keep a food/headache journal, see your doctor for help. Get massages, avoid red wine and preservatives, MSG and processed foods.

Hello,You have to find out what causes the migraines, is it stress, or food like chocolate, Tonic water, Oranges, Chinese food , those food products are not good when you have migraine and also can cause it.
