My mother, who is about 54 years old has terrible back aches, not really BACK aches its mostly around the pelvis area/hips.
Is there any way to cure this?
And her right arm is hurting either.
She cant really put her arm up,so she has a hard time tying her hair, lifting heavy stuffs.
Is massaging her the right thing to do?

it's very possible your mother has Fibromyalgia. These are the symptoms. She needs to see a doctor of rheumatology to get a proper diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.

Yes, massaging can definitely help improve the pain. A professional massage therapist would be best.

Here is a brief list of common symptoms of this disease:

Chronic pain throughout the body
Burning, numbness and tingling
Tenderness when pressure is placed on or around the neck, elbows, hips, thighs and knees.
Sleep disorders
Chronic fatigue or exhaustion
Depression
Anxiety
Facial Pain
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Memory Loss
Irritable Bowel
Tension or Migraine Headaches
High sensitivity to foods and medications (allergic type reaction).
Minimal tolerance to heat and cold
High sensitivity to bright lights and sounds
Hair Loss

Because symptoms develop gradually, this disease is often misdiagnosed. It is often diagnosed as a repetitive strain injury; sleep disorder condition, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis or any other type of medical problem. Based on the American College of Rheumatology a person is diagnosed with Fibromylagia when he or she suffers pain throughout the body for at least three months and has 11 out of 18 tender points present.

For now have her do the following:

Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.

Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.

Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day.

500mg of calcium and magnesium, taken twice daily, can help with diminishing the pain.

Advil liqui capsules work very quickly on pain. Take them four times daily.

I think it is important for her to see a doctor. With the arms, the hips etc., hurting so much that it is affecting her daily life (like tying up her hair), it's best to get peace of mind. That doesn't sound normal, and she is still quite young. Please take your mom to the doctor and have the doctor give you formal advice.
