I tried Proactiv a years back and it didn't work for me at all, in fact, what happened was instead of it clearing up the pimples I did have to begin with, it made them bigger and for some reason I got even more pimples...but I have heard from some co-workers that it worked for them and still does and their skin looks great so I don't know why it didn't work for me. I've seen Murad on tv and it says that it also treats skin conditions that look like acne aside from treating real acne too. I was wondering maybe if I have one of those skin conditions (and yes they do look like regular acne so I could see how they could be mistaken for acne, they show actual photos of the other types of skin conditions on the murad infomercial) and that would explain why proactive didn't work for me. But after being dissappointed by buying a product from tv (meaning Proactiv, of course) now I just don't want to go through that all over again by buying Murad. Please tell me, if you've used both, what is

I have some rashes on my legs that have been there for almost 6 years. I have been to the doctor. He put my leg up to a special light and said it wasn't fungus. He diagnosed it as Dermatitis, and prescribed me prescription cortizone which I used as directed for a few weeks, and did not help it. The patches are pale red, thicker than the surrounding skin, flaky looking, very itchy at times, and sometimes not.

My skin, in general, is very dry and sensitive and the rash is only on my lower legs. I do wear pants most of the time. However, even when I was going to tanning beds, the condition was not better than it is now. The patches bounce around alot. I've started to get very small patches on my thighs and torso. I have no idea what it is. My boyfriend has psoriasis, and it looks like his condition, but isn't nearly as severe. It only has morphology (appearance) that is similar.

I'll be thankful for any advice I can get. Hopefully someone has had a similar condition. Thanks.

Each day I cleanse my face with a triple action salicylic acid astringent about 3 times a day if possible, and apply a benzoyl peroxide cream to the problem area usually twice a day. 3 times a week ill cleanse and exfoliate and twice a week ill use a face mask. I'm also on a contraceptive pill that helps control acne. I should perhaps moisturize more to prevent dryness but i feel like it causes me to break out more often.
Is this a reasonable routine for the the treatment of acne and generally keeping the face clean or is there too much or too little going on here?
What are your tips for keeping acne under control?

My cuticle skin from the fingers peels or rather 'shreds' and then it hurts a lot whenever something touches or rubs against them. Till now I have been clipping it off using a nailcutter but that didn't help much....

This is kind of a three in one question...sorry!
1. Is it normal for me to get really itchy after a tanning session? Or is something wrong with my skin?
2. If you expose your teeth while in the bed will the light whiten your teeth?
3. Should I wait a certain amount of time before showering after a tan session?

Thanks in advance!

Okay so i have a small amount of acne all over my face. It's better then it was before. I used a product called ZapZyt and it helped clear up most of it but i woke up one morning with really dry skin and my face was super red. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to take away some of the reddness and fast. If you could help me out that would be great. Also if you know how to get my skin back to normal or softer please let me know. I just want to say thanks in advance to all of you that will help me out.

It hurts when I touch it and it's hard. The bump is about the size of a tear drop. I don't think it is a zit.

I have had a tattoo on my shoulder for about 7-8 years and sometimes it will swell and itch. The whole thing doesn't swell, just the outline. My others don't do this. I was just wondering if this was normal and if anyone else has ever seen this.
