Best products are called Aquaphor or CarMex. Both can be found over the counter at the drug store. Stop licking your lips as it makes the conditon worse.
Good Luck!

You should try Bag Balm. It works better than chapstick because it was originally designed to help chapped cow teats. I know that sounds odd, but it contains lanolin which is great for softening, plus it stays on your lips far longer than chapstick. I would apply it as you need, but you don't need a whole lot and don't forget to do so before bed. If the Bag Balm sounds just too out there (I promise it's the best though), a second choice would be plain petroleum jelly.

Oftentimes, chapstick makers add ingredients to their products that cause them to dry out faster or dry out your lips (like salt or something like it) and make you re-apply again and again, using more of their product.

If you do get the bag balm I suggest getting the small 1oz. can. The larger can has an odd smell and I feel works a little differently (I think the large one is better for the animals), plus the small can lasts a long time because you can apply it sparingly, so it's cost effective.

It might also help to make a conscious effort to not bite you lips, or at least when you catch yourself, stop and apply some bag balm.

Go spend 99 cents on some chap stick. Even the normal non-medicated kind will help moisturize and protect your lips. If they are hurting you, and cracked badly even bleeding...get some Blistex...the stuff will fix you right up..but don't use it regularly like chap stick.
