I went to the MD on Tuesday because the skin on my breast area, upper back, and lower back were hurting horribly (all on the right side of my body). The skin still hurts, and she gave me an anti-viral medicine to treat shingles. Is it possible to have shingles without having a rash? I have a few bumps here and there, but nothing like the pictures I've seen.

My BF went haying with my dad one day. He came home and reported that his back itched a lot. As the days went by he kept scratching and saying how it felt like something was crawling under his skin. When I looked, it looked like there was just a pimple there where it was itchy. About a week later we were lying in bed and I looked at the place on his back and it didn't look normal. Like a hardened swollen bump. I told him and he said squeeze it. So I did. Out came some watery pus, a little blood and finally something long and black. When we put it on a tissue it looked like a worm, my BF moved it around and it was moving its head! He said its some kind of worm but we don't know what. We were going to take it to the doctor to be analyzed so we put it in a pill bottle. Its dead now and not moving. It is the grossest thing I have ever seen in my life. Real small. The area on his back has yet to heal. It's healing slowly but has turned scaly (like dried skin) and started off a hardened bump

Even when I use moisturizer regularly, the skin on my palms is a greyish-white colour and can be pulled off - or cut off with nail clippers - often in sheets. When I do pull it off, the palms are ghastly red and people ask me if I've been burned. So, it doesn't matter whether I do or I don't, my palms still look terrible. Anyone know why?

My boyfriend and I were both exposed to poison ivy. He gets it very easily. I have never had it before. I know he was affected. He has a huge patch of it under his arm and some on his leg.

I figured I wouldn't get it - I never have before. However there were pricker bushes in the same area and I have a scratch on my arm that seems to be more than a scratch.

It is a small line a little more than an inch but it has raised bumps that itch along it.

Could this be a small area of poison ivy? I am wondering if my skin usually protects me from poison ivy but when it got in my scratch it was easier to infect.

It is not red, and doesn't burn or itch like my boyfriend's poison ivy, but it does it, and it is raised.

How long does untreated poison ivy take to heal?

Do the poison ivy medications (calimine, benadryl, etc.) speed the healing process or do they only stop the itching?

Is there a product that does speed the healing process?

I have a few areas of my body where oil seems to congregrate. what's the best product out there that will target that oil and dry it up? (don't you wish you could do that to the oil execs! Make them sweat a little, after making billions of dollars in profit from the incredibly high gas prices we are paying right now.)

Can scars on the skin be cured if he has the gene of scar, which means scars are likely to happen where his skin is wounded thus a usual surgery will likely to make it worse?

Is there any effective treatment for such a thing?

I brought my baby in to the Dr. for bumps on her face. She was diagnosised with this skin condition keratosis pilaris. (Small bumps) It's most common on the upper arms and thighs. I am so upset about it being on her little face. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this themselves or with there little children, and if she will grow out of it since its on her face.

I have had a problem with psoriasis for 5 years. It is located on the base & sides of my nose and above my upper lip. I had been using my sister's corticosteriod medication, but that is no longer an option.

My main problem is the redness in this area; scaling is minimal and it doesn't itch.

I have tried vaseline, lotion, and a tar substance. The vaseline and lotion have minimal effect if any. And I have experimented with tar a couple times; each time my facial psoriasis is redder and sore. Does this mean it is working? Not working?

Is there a non-prescription treatment for my psoriasis, especially to get rid of the redness?

I had some bites ( Like Big and Red Mosquitoes bites ) on my Legs and Arms but there isn't any bites on my waist area. I had went to 2 doctors, they just say is some bugs cause all these bites. They jus ask me to air my bed and bed sheets under the hot sun. But i did follow their instructions, managed to wash my bed sheets, pillow case but there about 3 new bites appear when i wake up. I did spraying some pesticide all over my room. But there isn’t any improvement. Can anyone recommend me what other methods can I use? As the bites are really very itchy

I have ingrown toenails all the time. I can usually take care of them myself but it sure is a pain to deal with. I have been trying to keep them longer so that they can't grow into my skin. But I recently decided that if I file my fingernails, why can't I file my toenails, just the corners really, to keep the sharp corners from growing into my skin. Anyone done this before or got any advice on why or why not to do this?
