Boils on the face (in your case nose) are usually caused by an infection of a pore or hair follicle. Usually, they will bust on their own and heal rather quickly once they do. However, you don't have time on your side. Therefore, apply clean and very warm compress (use a washcloth, again very very warm). This will help it rupture. Next, take all of your pillows, or clothes or anything that came into contact with the boil and wash in hot hot water. Everytime you wash your face, use a clean washcloth. Keep warm wet gauze on the boil all day, and change frequently. Everytime you touch the boil, wash your hands with antibacterial soap. You can spread infection if you don't. Also, if the boil appears deep, it may have to be removed by your health care provider. If possible, have it evaluated by him/her first. I think it can rupture on it's own if you keep warm moist gauze on it all day, and change frequently. Also, when it clears, purchase a good antibacterial facial soap. My hubby and I use Pan Oxyl. It is the best soap for acne breakouts and antibacterial. You can purchase it at Eckerd, Rite Aid or CVS. It comes in a white box with blue letters. It's about $7, but it's the best. Okay, hope it clears soon. Good luck, and remember, keep your hands clean after touching it, and use a different washcloth and towel every time you wash yourself. Change your pillowcase every day too. And keep the warm (hot as you can stand it) gauze on your nose to help it rupture.

My son had one the doc put him on antibiotics with a cream to use too
it took more than a week tho and he still has a slight scar
my friend used to get them on her butt and used magnesium sulphate from the chemist to draw them out
ask your pharmacist --I am sure he will want you to see a doctor
I thought I had one coming on my face but it was a cyst the pharmacist didnt want to know and the doc prescribed the same anti biotics but a different type of cream be sure be safe see the doc

boils are serious business. They are particularly worrisome near the nose or eyes...meaning they are close to your brain. If in fact this is a boil as opposed to a large pimple, you need to see a physician yesterday. Do not think about it...do it! A boil is a staph infection, which can result in serious illness or death if the infection becomes systemic.

you can see if your doctor can lance it, or cut it open to pop it. Or, there's a pill you can take to bust them from the inside too. Can't guarentee it'll be less than a week, though.
