Skin Conditions - July 2006

I went camping last weekend. Everyone was complaining about the bugs, but even though I had forgotten to put bug spray on, I didn't feel anything, so I figured the bugs had just missed me. Monday, I started itching like mad, and discovered that I was covered in chigger bites. I counted about 30. I work 60 hour work weeks, and can't afford to miss my sleep because of these bites, but all week have been woken several times in the night with the intense itching. Is there anything I can do? I have tried Cortizone Maximum Strength and Cortaid Maximum Strength, with only very brief relief (the itching returns within half an hour).

This morning I woke up with an itchy welt on the back of my leg. It's about two or three times the size of a mosquito bite, so I know it's not that. It has no puss and it's not scabby, nor does it burn. It's just red and it itches. Could it be some sort of spider bite? What over the counter creme would anyone suggest?

dated 30/7/2006 regarding the above disease.
My mom is having almost similar symptoms. I want
to know is it the same one. She has been tested with
all the allergic investigations. She is at present taking
treatment with homeopathy.

ers...What is it? Is it stress related? If I keep putting alcohol on it will it go away? They are so nasty. I am 36 and never have had acne. Dermatologist said it had to do with stress and gave me a prescription for very expensive sterroid ointment which has done NOTHING!

the doctor diagnosed our family with scabies. We got these scabies as soon as we brought a new puppy into the house. I put him in the bed with me that morning and let him sleep cuddled in my arm and woke up with a very very itchy rash that day that was all over my arm, it looked as if 50 fleas bit me there and that is why the doc first thought flea bites after a week of it not going away, well then i went back and another doc said that is scabies and gave me and my family 5% permethrin cream for them BUT it has been 2 weeks today and when i come in contact with my already washed bedding many many times since the treatment i am breaking out in a rash?????? My whole family got it terrible also and are still a bit itchy. Sadly the pup died last week from parvo so there is no way that we could be getting them from him anymore (BTW, he was also treated the same day as us for scabies),what i need to know is why am i breaking into a rash like this ,was it really scabies we had or what?????

I have been treating myself with fucidic acid (anti-bacterial) for the past 2 months and the medication works for mostly if not all pustules. It works well on boils almost immediately, but there are a few stubborn ones where it doesn't seem to work. Is there anyone there who can explain this?
