Counseling and stress management
Healthy diet
Proper rest
Regular use of skin moisturizers to prevent drying of your skin
Take a daily multi-vitamin
Vitamins E and C: talk to your doctor first
Keep your skin clean
Avoid skin injury and scratching
Use a moisturizer to avoid skin dryness
Expose yourself to sunlight: be sure to use sunscreen protection
Consider moving to a warmer climate
Aveeno oatmeal baths can to loosen scales
Phototherapy
Phototherapy exposes your skin to ultraviolet (UV) light. UV light is a normal part of sunlight that causes sunburn. Phototherapy is divided into two types: UVA and UVB light. Both forms of UV light help treat psoriasis. The treatments are usually combined with drug therapy (psoralen) to improve results. You may be exposed to sunlight for periods of time, or your doctor may expose you to special UV lights.
Drug Therapy
The type of drug therapy will depend on you and your condition. Not all people respond in the same way to the drugs used to treat psoriasis. Medications include:
Anthralin (dithranol) Calcipotriene (Dovonex) and many others. have you seen a dermatologists?

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.
I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.
And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.
And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

There is no cure for soriasis by Allopathic medicines. Ayurvedic and herbal medicines have played an important role in curing psoriasis. The main cause of this disease is tension. In the meantime, drink 50ml bitter gourd juice daily to purify your blood. I have cured a patient and he is still under my medication for last 29 months. In case you wish to get well and believe my words, do write to me on close2health@yahoo.com giving details of your age, profession, sex, marital status, since when suffering and the country where you reside. Take care and be in good health.

lots of skin irratation is caused by stress. i had a rash for over 2 years on my arms legs torso and the back of my neck. i scratched all through the night every night, the doctor gave me antihistimins that didnt work, i used betnovate that didnt work i then i went to threapy she said she would sort out what was making me angry and that my angry skin would sort it self out. And within 3 months the rash had gone. Maybe you have other issues as i did that need addressing first. Try it and good luck

Going to the dermatologist is the best thing to do to get evaluated. They will most likely prescribe meds, but I also find T-Gel shampoo works really well. Try to take a multi-vitamin and get some - but not too much - sun. Do not pick at it because this will cause it to spread more. Try not to stress and try to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Talk with your doctor. There are two foam type products (reminds me of hair mousse) that I think are fairly new. One is called Olux and I can't recall the name of the other one. Good luck!

Have you tried Phototherapy? It works well for our patients. The lesions will flatten and even out and prevents it from flaking. Hope this helps. God bless!
