i have to sing at a wedding on sunday, so i've greatly reduced my smoking the last couple of days. problem is, i feel as if my throat is now even MORE constrained and i have less control of my voice and cant reach the heights i was able to hit days ago while smoking! can this be because of my reduction, so i should continue smoking like i always did, or is it just a coincidence and i should NOT smoke until the wedding and hope it goes away??? HELP!!!

I had a really bad attack yesterday and had repeated attacks throughout the past 2 days. I've been taking pulmicort and albuterol regularly but went to the doctor today because the attacks were not going away.

She gave me a nebulizer treatment, which made the breathlessness decrease. I was also just prescribed with singulair, just took a pill a little while ago.

I still feel like a little attack could occur again (it's getting later in the evening, which might explain it) but I'm starting to feel a little short of breath. Because the albuterol affected my sleeping last night, I'm hesitant to take it, plus it's not as bad as it has been. But my chest is still a little tight and I'm still a little sore, drained and weak.

How soon should I expect to feel 100% better? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

I volunteer with kids that have cancer. This little girl has been fighting for her life since age 6, she is 12 now. Her cancer has come and gone 4 times now, she has stage 4. Her mom said right now Chemo just buys her time, do you know anyone that has survived Neuroblastoma?

My mom just found out she has the beginning of Emphysema, and who knows, possibly lung cancer, I pray not. She works so hard babysitting kids, and she feels life is hard and she is always in pain, she said if she has lung cancer, she won't quit smoking, and she is not even sure she would fight for her life since life is so painful already, and this really bothers me and hurts me. I know her life is tough. but giving up is not the answer. I need someone who can send inspirational thoughts or ideas to her, she will read all of this, please respond with positive ideas.

Over the last week once in awhile, I get a pain in my chest behind the left breast. Also, once in awhile when I breathe I get a little whizey up the middle of my chest from my stomach up. I am not sick, nor do I smoke and am not around people that smoke. The pain in my chest sometimes gets to be bad enough that I have to take shallow breathes for it not to hurt. Then it goes away. I had this when I was younger and my doctor said it was due to growing pains - well I'm 25 now and not growing....

Just wondering if anyone else had this and what it could be from?

Ergh! Okay this is the second time I have posted.

Anyways, I have this bad cough and I'm coughing every like, two seconds and when I cough I get this pain at the sides of my chest.
I think it's where the lungs are? idk.

So. Do you think this is serious or not?

i have been under alot of stress and ever since i started being stressed my colon has been spazing and everytime i eat i have diahrea. i went to the doctors and they said my symptoms sounded like hepatitus and they took lots of tests but they didnt say it was it. and im sick of being like this any tips on how to be able to eat?? thanks!

Should i be concerned or am i ok?
this past thursday i woke up with a sore throat and heavy chest and a slight cough and slight fever! It all hit me that day. The next day i had a on and off fever more off than on and a funny voice and still the heavy chest. Now i cough a bit my nose is stuffed and my chest feels heavy at times, what is wrong?

I have no prior history of thyroid problems. I just ran a marathon in October 2006. I have had bronchitis and sinusitus in the past 2 months and been on antibiotics for each illness. I asked for my blood work results and got this information. I can't see my doctor until next week. I am normally an extremely healthy person although I have asthma and allergies.

My 6 mo. old was admitted to hosp. when xray showed 'marking' on perihilar area of his lung. Is this near the heart?The doc told my son it could be either a virus or pneumonia? What is tx.? Antibiotics? IV's? He has temp. 10l and is congested.
