I have EVERY symptom of Lupus. My doc sent me for bloodwork and had an ANA test done to see if I have Lupus. The ANA came back negative. However, for OVER A YEAR NOW, my white blood cell count has been high (13.3), my platelets have been high (416), my spleen, liver and left kidney have been swollen (ultrasound), and I have had a LOT of pain under my rib cage on both sides, especially my left side. If I stand or sit for too long, my stomach bloats out (esp when standing). The doctors around here don't seem too concerned about the constant pain I'm in, which has made me lose even MORE faith in doctors. Someone please help me!

My bloodwork results are as follows:
White blood cell (13.3)
Red blood cell (4.43)
Hemoglobin (14.4)
Hematocrit (42.7)
MCV (96.4)
MCH (32.6)
MCHC (33.8)
RDW (12.8)
Platelet (416)
Absolute Neutrophils (8326) - 62.6%
Absolute Lymphocytes (3963) - 29.8%
" Monocytes (705) - 5.3%
" Eosinophils (266) - 2%
" Basophils (40) - 0.3%

Recently I noticed that when I take in a deep breath, I get a pain in the left side of my chest. It is not intense, but it was sharp enough that it startled me. It is only noticeable when I breathe deeply. It feels somewhat like the pressure/tightness of an asthma attack without any difficulty of moving air. (Yes, I do have asthma but this does not appear to be related to it.)

Also, I have been noticing some sporadic tingling in my fingers and my face the last few days.

I have no idea if these two are related or not. I plan on seeing a doctor, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone might have insight. Thanks.

I just started taking Detrol La for OAB. Ever since I started my face has been breaking out horribly. The last time I broke out like this was when I was taking a small dose of steroids for a rash. Detrol LA has tolterodine in it. Is that a steroid? I can't find anything that just comes out and says "this is a steroid."

My doctor prescribed me Arthritec (sp) for Osteoarthritis. I've been taking Diclofenac, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm a 47 year old woman and my doc says my osteoarthritis is that of a 70 yr old person. It has (and still is) caused me so much pain and mostly neurological problems. I've had a few surgeries in various places in the past 11 months alone. Can anyone identify with this disease? Please email me via Y!Answers for more information.

What is the definition of a "disease"?

Mental illness is a disorder, but can it necessarily be classified as a disease?

My health teacher got mad at me because he thought I was protesting his logic that "mental illnesses are disorders, not diseases".

If anyone can come up with a source and some evidence that proves him wrong I'd love it! I read it somewhere but can't find it. Help!

I have a kidney failure and the waiting list for a kidney where I live can take between 7-10 years longer for me since I am Type O positve. For now I've been getting dialysis treatment 4 times a week and am getting worse since now I also have Lupus. One of my sisters had hers tested but when UCLA called her to let her know that she's a match, she never called them back. My Dad and sister would tell people how sorry they feel for me and that they want to donate their kidney but it's all talk. When they needed things from me, I was always helping, now that I need help, they are all gone. How would you feel about this situation? I have 3 kids and my husband is not a match so he can't donate. I've decided to stay out of my familys life for now because it hurts to know that no one seems to care.

i've had this problem 2 weeks already and it seems to be getting worse. i can't lie flat on my back or on both sides because my legs tend to get weak and numb, and i can only sleep sitting down on the sofa + i feel a very strong burning sensation on the left side of my lower abdomen.

I visited the hospital and they told me i have a muscle spasm, they injected me 2 times on my butt cheeks with some sort of relaxant, it didn't improve anything. and the doctor prescribed 4 different muscle anti-inflammatories + percocet to ease the pain. 4 days have passed and it seems to be getting worse.

So i ask myself, ok maybe this IS a pinched nerve or something, but why can't i lie flat on my back or on sides, and what's up with that REALLY BAD BURNING sensation on my lower left abdomen. I've done my research, Bowel problems? Colon cancer?

and did i mention i have leukemia? i am in total remission however. please help.

He is 3 years old and he CONSTANTLY wants to be drinking somethin.. literally as soon as he finishes one drink he wants another 5 minutes later all day long every day. it just isn't normal. i know being dehydrated can cause someone to be thirsty, but he couldn't possibly be dehydrated cause he is allways drinking (and he hasn't been trowing up or anything like that) i looked it up on webmd.com but there wasn't too many different causes for his sympyom... the only thing it said was dehydration or diabetes type 1... and i don't think he is dehydrated and i don't think he has diabetes... i think being constantly thirsty is his only symptom... i am taking him to the doctor on monday, but do u have any idea why he might allways be so thirsty?

Does anyone know what it's called when one is born with a birth defect that leaves them with no fingers either on one or both hands. I'm not talking about 1 or 2 missing fingers but basically all fingers missing. I saw a documentary on a whole family who has the condition and now I just found out that this person I know has it. I was just curious to find out more about it.

I am a writer and in my story my main character gets a ruptered appendix, I was wondering if it was possible to be coughing up blood when this happens? I remember watching a show when something like that happened, but I didn't know if that was possible.

Your thoughts and opinions would be greatly welcome! Anything else you know about this situation would help too!

Thanks so much!
