Everything goes through the liver first, after it is altered in the liver you have to realize that medications do not just affect the targeted organ, the can have effects on every susceptible tissue in the body. Good luck, and be careful!

as a rule most medicines filter through the Liver, and some the kidneys...to get specific, you have to know what medicine and go to PDR.com and read the section on that drug.

that information is provided with each medication, at least those that are prescriptive. Look up the medication, and you will find the route of metabolism for that medication.

The liver and and kidneys are the main filtering organs for medications.
I have been in situations where some patients have bad drug overdose. They have to be dialyzed immediately.
Metabolism of drugs occur in liver. Drugs worthmentioning are alcohol and opiates. Medications are usually excreted in intestines, plasma, kidneys and brain.
