I just turned 24 a few weeks back, I just recently had a pain or tenderness coming from one of my testicles. I did not get punched or kicked. My girlfriend has been out of town for 2 weeks, so I have had no sexual activity (not sure if that would affect it). I did an examination and felt a little "bump" where the tenderness is coming from. It is also coming from the area where the vas deferent meet the testicles.
6 months ago I was hit by a car (ex girlfreind) and was hospitalized for a month, I had health insurance through my previous employer, but due to the accident I lost that job as well as my benefits. I am worried that if I go get it checked out i'm going to get billed and if there is something wrong I am going to get declined when trying to get new insurance due to the MIB check. Its the typical scenario that many Americans face with our health care system.
Any advice or suggestions or if you have had some issue like this please chime in.

I have a good friend who I worked with years ago. She went through the gamut of cancer treatments, having been diagnosed with ovarian cancer that spread to her breast. I hadn't seen her in quite a while and arrange to meet with her for lunch. As I was parking my car, I caught a glimpse of her walking into the restaurant, smoking a cigarette. My heart sank. What are the stats on someone who beat cancer like that getting it again because of smoking?

I am a 19 year old female and about 6 months ago i noticed that i had a knot junt uner the skin not visible to the eye that was in the middle of my lower abdomen! it dose not cause me any pain but i noticed that it has gotten bigger! I thought that if i would leave it alone that it would go away but it seems to have grown! It is about the size of a fifty cent piece now! Do you think that this could be something serious......... should i visit my doctor and possibly have an x-Ray and labs or do you think that it will eventually go away!!

I have a mole on my leg that is darker and bumpier than usual. It hasn't bled or itched, but if you look closely there is a tiny scab right in the middle of the mole. The edges look slightly faded and I am worried. The only problem I have is telling my parents that I suspect something is wrong; they are always busy and every time I try to open up to them about something they are just in denial and say things like "Don't worry about it" or "We already have enough to do..." I know for a fact that if I try to say something about this mole they will just ignore it and tell me that nothing is wrong...

How do I get them to listen to me and to save me from something potentially life threatening? Please help me...

P.S. I have been playing tennis for three years and I have spent a great deal of time in the bright hot sun...

Any advice is well appreciated, thank you.

Oncologist/radiation therapist?
How many years of higher education does it take to b an oncologist? It is a real doctor, right? I understand that an oncologist works with radiation therapists, what is your opinion of a career as a radiation therapist or a oncologist?
I'm thinking to be a radiation therapist, but my father is pressuring me to be a doctor. I am very interested in curing cancer and helping people get well, but im not looking to study for a long time like doctors need around 11 years. All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanx

Ok..well my dad chews tabacco. There I said it. I'm really worried about him. I've given him a hard time about it plenty of times but he doesnt care. He is addicted. My grandpa (his dad) was recently hositalized for cancer. But my dad and my grandpa havent talked to eachother in more than 3 years, so he didnt care much. I want him to know that he could be the cancer patient soon, but I dont know what to say. I've talked to my mom about this. She doesnt have much of an effect on him either. OK so my questoin are 1) How can I tell him that I want him to stop, and 2) What is going to happen to him if he keeps doing this drug?! Thanks in advance for your answers. :)
